Hi Ozbargainers,

I ran this same deal around a year ago (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/645643) and we sold out pretty quickly. I've been unable secure stock at the same price so I wasn't able to restock at the same rate to keep the deal running, but just last week I was offered a carton at a great price, so happily took it on so the deal could re-run. This round I've got a full carton, which I think is more than enough to keep the deal running for a few days to a week, I guess we'll see.

  • Get your hands on some Zantac and I'll be a very happy boy. Not fussed about the supposed cancer risk

  • Esomeprazole 20mg

Isn't this is prescribed medicine, Chemist Warehouse have 30 for $8.50

    https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/76709/esomeprazole-s…

    • +3

It's both prescription and off the shelf. Obviously cheaper on prescription but good for a top up, or if your doctor doesn't bulk or charges for a repeat.

Useful for me when I'm travelling and forget to bring some.

      • +1

Yeah I'm out of scripts now and my medical centre charges $35 gap fee now. So once you factor in tha gap fee it's the same price to just buy them online and not have to waste my time going to the medical centre or chemist.

    • +6

If you are happy to make a time with your GP, drive down to his/her surgery, sit in line with 20 people with varying ailments, get a script, drive the script to Chemist warehouse, wait for 30 mins and have the taxpayer subsidise the excercise to the tune of around $60-80, yes you can save a few dollars by going this route. Or 4-5 mouse clicks tonight and the item will arrive in your letterbox in a week or so. If you're in SA we're also happy to price match CW on scripts so come on down!

      • -1

Yeah, what would a doctor know?

        • +3

Ever tried to get a script for PPIs from a GP?

Almost all GPs will happily give you a 5 repeat script for a 20mg dose without asking a single question. If anything you have to make sure they understand you only want 20mg and not 40mg.

Sure people that haven't previously been diagnosed as needing a PPI should see their GP. However, if you already know you need PPIs and don't need to see a GP for another reason, then so much easier just buying online at this price.

        • +1

Surprisingly not a lot when it comes to heart burn requiring PPI's. I know a lot of doctors who have never heard of Helicobacter pylori and that's one of the big causes of heart burn and indigestion.

      • there's talk about making paracetamol prescription only. what are your thoughts on that?

  • Hi OP, any saline nasal spray and eye drops for ( allergies) upcoming season?

    • +1

Aldi were selling a saline nasal spray, I bought a twin pack last week

  • +1

I was on PPI medication for years, It's hard to break the cycle once you start using it because the reflux is worse than when you started while you are withdrawing, so to speak. I tried a keto diet and inadvertently realised it was the carbs that were setting off my acid reflux. I was able to break the habit of taking the medication and now I eat carbs more sparingly (no longer do "keto" but I have reduced my carb intake).

Worth a try if you are taking this stuff because the side effects can be pretty horrible.

    • 100% - I also sleep with my bed tilted up parts of the night which helps a great deal. Mine's usually caused by what I eat but sometimes just "cycles" for no reason I can put a finger on.

In any case was on these for years on and off but am generally happier off them. I have them with me on holiday as a precaution but generally try to stay off them as much as possible.

  • If I buy 2 packs it's $8.50 per pack :/

    • Please recheck - you are adding 2x single packs to your cart and then applying the code at checkout, total should be: $15.98

  • This didnt show up, do we atleast get a tracking number

    • If you selected the flat pack envelope freight there is no tracking, pls pm me your details.

    • FWIW I live in Sydney and it took a couple weeks to arrive, I was getting into the early stages of worrying but it did end up showing up.
