1x Dell U3821DW VS 2x Dell U2723QE/U2722DE

Hey all

Looking for a CLEAN wfh setup in the banking industry.

Will most likely use for youtube/word/excel etc aswell.

Always had my eye on an UW however not sure if theres enough space to run 2 windows side by side.

With corp discount looking for one of these Dell options 1x U3821DW VS 2x U2723QE/U2722DE.

Cost for 1x U3821DW VS 2x U2723QE is the same

U2722DE is 3-400 cheaper

Seeking any insight that will help.

Cheers

  • The Numbers Mason. What do they mean?

    • Dell monitors, numbers updated.

  • +3

I'd personally go the 2 screens.

    • 4k vs 1440p?

      • +1

        27" 4K is a great size/res, so I'd go 4K.

  • +1

2 screens for twice as much onlyfans

    • That solves that then!

  • +1

If your desk setup allows for it and your system will happily drive 2x4k@60hz then you are better off with the two unless the small border is a deal breaker as you get a lot more effective space / resolution to play with. This also hangs on the ability of your eyes to make use of the extra res - no point if you have to crank the scaling up to "where are my glasses" spec where the advantages are lost in a haze of huge slightly fuzzy text and mouse trails.

Either that or ditch the 38 idea and just do it properly by getting a U4919DW

    • Thanks for the great insight. I think ill go down the 2x 27" 4k option. Ive chosen these options based in usb c, ethernet and daisy chaining.

I like the U4919DW however i feel maybe too big on the desk…

      • +1

The u4919DW is essentially 2* 27", so if you can fit 2 27's, you can fit that.

  • check the number of pixels available for your work

    2x U2723QE (3840 x 2160 x 2) >>>>>>>>>> 1x U3821DW (3840 x 1600 x 1)

    • Good way of looking at it

      • it is called desktop real estate :D

  • Personally, having a UW for my personal setup and 2x27" for my WFH setup I would 100% go with dual screens for productivity.

Sure you can setup zones on your UW to nap windows too but I never feel like it is as a clean experience as using multiple screens.

    • I think this option wins. 2x 27"

  • I've gone from a 38" dell ultrasharp to 2x27" dells. Definitely preferred and miss the single 38". With the dual 27s, you end up sitting in the middle of one of them and don't really use the full width of the other one. Also the 38" had more vertical pixels.

    • I ended up with 2x 27". I sit in the middle of one screen and the other sits on an angle to my right. Works well
