I rode with then once; estimated to cost $40, but they charged $60. Had a $30 discount, so ended up being $30 in the end. I wouldn't trust these guys.

You must have selected a cab? My rides with Ola and DiDi have always been what the estimate says.

I believe the cabs just run on a meter like normal though, and you just pay in Placie whatever the meter comes to in your cab.

      Edit:

All Placie Transport Partner fares are the same when you use these services through Placie or directly book via Placie Transport Partner.

Placie does not make any changes to these prices.

I had a similar experience ordering an Ola through them. Estimated $25 - charged me $45 without any warning or notifications about the increase after accepting the fare. After a bunch of back and forth telling them they were underhanded they gave me a $20 voucher.

Their app is a bit crap to be honest, or at least it was about 6mths ago when I last used it. Once you select "find my ride" if they drivers keep rejecting the fare you end up in an endless loop of it trying to find a driver with no way for you to cancel it… I waited 15min for it to find me an OLA with no luck… so opened Uber and got the uber instead… opened the app after arriving in town 20min later and it was still trying to find a driver to pick me up from my house.

  • Tried using Placie over the weekend as I had a $10 discount code to use before it expired. Checked prices and even with the $10 discount it wasnt that cheaper and rides were taking a while so paid the extra $2-3 to get a quick Uber. Overall though, Placie is a good idea and would recommend if you can wait a little longer over comparing the apps yourself.

  • What are we riding?

I wonder if this stacks with DiDi discounts. I've got the AmEx Spend $30 / $30 Credit loaded, and a DiDi 20% discount loaded so this could be a really good way for me to get a $43 trip for (almost) free:
    $43 - $5 = $38.
    $38 - 20% = $30.40
    $30.40 - $30 = $0.40

  • Can more than 1 promo code be used for a ride?

    • +1

I don't believe so. You need to select one to apply.

  • Cool, a middleman for middlemen

  • Don't risk using that app. Read reviews on Google Play store to get an idea what situations the user have been put into. Do not expect any support from the app owner (carsales) when you get overcharged by any of their service providers. There is no way to cancel the order when a taxi driver starts the trip while waiting at a wrong location etc. Multiple issues there, so they now even have closed the possibility to post reviews on Google play.
