  • OVO are the cheapest for the United Energy area AFAIK

GloBird Energy is the cheapest on the UE grid.

One thing that OVO does not tell you up front on the compare site is that their One Plan is a forced bill smoothing plan.

    • What's your rates and plan reference? If it's worth it I'll change too!

The bill smoothing thing is not a problem AFAIK - they refund any credit you have when leaving (which is something any respectable OZbargainer would do as soon as the shopback or $10/mo expires anyway)

    • Unfortunately our Energy market is just like our Mobile, Super and Insurance market, not everyone gets the same deal, even if it's the same provider, and at times the next street or next suburb.

You should actually calculate the deals based on your needs and circumstances. You might have time of day billing and be a shift worker, and can take advantage of cheaper day rates compared to a normal plan; or you may have Solar Panels and a battery? Everyone's circumstance is different, people should use the Energy Made Easy website to compare, or if like you, they're in Victoria, the Victorian Government's website. I'm not aware of a Government comparison site for WA, as their Energy is setup differently, so either you visit each individual retailer and compare or use a private comparison sites, like Canstar Blue or Finder to compare, remember they're private companies that usually get kick backs. Unless a mate from WA can point us in the right direction?

One thing that OVO does not tell you up front on the compare site is that their One Plan is a forced bill smoothing plan.

I don't know where you checked for your info, but it's pretty detailed on their website when you look at the Plan page.

  • OVO charge monthly bill so no plan for quarterly in NSW so not worth it as their supply rates are cheap but consumption rate are high where i am located.. :(

  • +1

Can I do this for two properties, under one account?

Or is it better to use different e-mail for each address to make two new accounts for 2 x $105 cashback?

    • Don't you have a wife?

    • +1

Don't know, but probably 2 different accounts is less risky.

  • How do you get the $10 a month on top of shopback referral?

    • Click on the $10 link, click referrals below the topic.

  • I wonder if there's any connection or disconnection fee?

    • They only charge this if you're physically disconnecting/connecting (eg. House will sit empty for a long time, or demolition). I've churned multiple times including 2 with them and was never charged. YMMV.
