Upsized Referral Bonus: $70 for Referrer & $10 for Referee ($10 Earned Cashback in 180 Days Required) @ TopCashback AU

1473

Ran into TA in my dream and we had a coffee together. Told him I don't have many friends and he said he'll pay me $70 for every friend I can make.

This deal is great if you would like to refer anyone you know. Those who hasn’t joined TopCashback are missing out on many deals like this and this and this and this and this and this all in a single month.

Tracking with TCB has been amazing since the very start and they’ve always been my go-to cashback provider.

    Wha!!!∑(゚Д゚ノ)ノ

  • When's the expiry?

  • +1

    Beat me to it.

It's almost enough to actually badger workmates to sign up.

Also I haven't had a referral click since CR folded so now it'll pay off, if it happens.

  • +4

where do i find a friend for this?

  • +2

Of course my only friend signed up yesterday and only $35 😅

    • +4

Having too many friends is overrated.

      • +6

But my wife does say I have too many girlfriends.

  • +1

Shows as 35 for me. Probably not updated yet

    • +1

On the backend it will be $70. Banner on the refer a friend page just haven’t updated.

      • That's what I thought too. The front page says 70. When you go to the referral page, it says 35. The T&C page still says
"Your current Tell-a-Friend bonus is $35"

        • +1

Yeah don't worry, you will get $70 if you refer.

  • +1

Anyone wanna be my friend :D

  • +56

Apperantly they only allow one account per household. Both our accounts got frozen recently just because they believe that I have created multiple accounts. Yes, I did, one for me one for my wife and we never double claim the same purchase, I don't see the issue there, but they decided to "place a payment hold" on my accounts before we decide which one we want to keep.
    Miss Cashrewards already.

    • +6

That’s horrible. Wonder if it states this anywhere in their T&Cs (not that it makes it right) - more than one adult can live in the same home. Wonder if it’s the same location + payment method that sets off the flag / detection system. Seems unfair.

      • Yeah, also I wonder how they find out this, they tracking and recording our IP or what? what other info they keeping in their database?

        • You seem to have been a member since more than a year ago. I wonder what changed recently to trigger this issue.

          • @trixieb: No idea, they say it is based on their regular checks. But I doubt it, both our accounts opened like since they started here.

    • Have you logged into both account on the same device?

      • +1

Hmm some house shared one laptop or pc so this cant be avoided sometimes…

        • Works on phone too.

There have been previous warning where it is easy to detect if you log out of one account and then log into another

          • +1

@CodeXD: I know everyone has different phones but sometimes browsing from pc is easier for older peoole

    • +1

Maybe reach out to @tightarse who is the rep here for TCB. Usually excellent at sorting things out!

    • Sorry to hear about that but please give @tightarse a ping on private messages amd he might be able to sort it out :)

      • +1

Yeah, TA is always the best. Might do it tomorrow when I am no longer that pissed off by that fking aggresive msg TCB sent me.

        • Thanks and let us know how it goes :)

        • @DoyA I know exactly which email you’re talking about! 😞😞

I have given up with these referral bonuses.. kinda seems too good to be true somedays.. 😭

    • Did you use your first account to refer the other one w/ a bonus? I assume that would cause an issue

But I definitely agree, it should be ok for two seperate adults to have their own accounts in the same house…

      • Following along… was speaking to my wife about referring as she has Shopback but no TCB and wanted to jump on some Woolworths etc deals

        • I'm 99% certain i've read 2 accounts per household are allowed. But I assume referring each-other would set of the fraud prevention alarm bells for TCB.

To be fair, TCB and SB could be a lot more clear in the referral terms to prevent any confusion…

Cmd-f for household doesn't pull up any terms, but they do say family is allowed:

The Tell-a-Friend referral scheme Is intended to be used by individuals to promote to family Or friends.

          • +3

@OutOfTime: @DoyA TA's reply on 09/09/2025 regarding referrals and multiple accounts:

Referring a family member is fine, provided the account is operated only by the person you referred (and not by you or anyone else). Please be very careful as the UK fraud team can and will close accounts that self-refer. I can't say much about the tools & processes they have at their disposal, but they are good at what they do. All the best.

            • +1

@trixieb: Thanks Trixie, you always got the answers to everything :)
Not an issue for me to worry about anyway (cause of having no friends and whatnot)

    • +11

Agreed. My siblings account was closed maybe a few days ago after making his cash out. They did not get the payout at all, got an email stating:

      Hi there,
As part of our regular checks, we noticed that you appear to have multiple TopCashback accounts. You may not have been aware of this, but it is against the terms and conditions of our site. Unfortunately, this means that we will have to terminate this account.
      Thank you for your understanding.
      Best regards,
      The TopCashback Support Team

I love TopCashback a lot, in terms of their cashback rates, but I would highly advise people to STAY AWAY from referrals between family members, and friends/roommates who share the same internet as you. They will seem any referral bonus as void if something is linked with you, a bit disappointing. For this reason, I will be negging this offer, not TopCashback or the Rep as a whole.

      • +1

Yes we got one laptop we share and my wife who I referred got shut down, they just took our money. Did have same bank account I realise now but so what, joint account. Probably IP tracking.

        • Now I am worried. We shared the device as well ,(only recently as my partner's phone was damaged), but we didn't refer each other. If this is happening to more people I am going to stop using Topcashback.

There is no doubt some people exploit the system and I often hope they stop doing that so that the rest of us who are genuine won't got affected.

          Hope TA see comments here.

        • Same IP, same device, same bank account. Throw in some shared deals, like maybe Chemist Warehouse (sure it's beard oil in yours and perfume in hers but TCB don't know that) and I'm not surprised the system flags it.

Now, CS should of course release her account and funds when you contact them. Get in touch with tightarse otherwise.

    • +2

I feel for you. I also remember being told two accounts in one household is fine. I haven't referred anyone for a long while although recently both Topcashback and Shopback have increased referral bonus a few times with very attractive amount. The reason I didn't bother is that I think referer receives $50 and referee only receives $10 or $20 isn't quite fair for referees. But this is just my opinion. I was happy to see one of Topcashback's recent referral offer when both parties received $50.

In your case, I hope TA can sort it out for you.

    • +4

Cashrewards had been the best for me. Unfortunately, TCB is the complete opposite. I follow all the guidelines and still had 2 out of 3 transactions not track. I open a ticket and wait for months to get it tracking and then an eternity to actually receive the cashback.

      • +3

I’m having a similar issue. I bought the boost deal from them when there was $50 offer . However, it hasn’t shown up yet. I’ve sent them multiple emails about it, and it’s been almost three months now. I’m starting to get a bit frustrated, as I was really looking forward to get it . ShopBack seems to be the best in my case with instant cashback tracking so fail to see how can I refer a family/friend when my own experience is below par/bad with them .

        • +1

@Sunnyoz Sorry to hear. Is your $50 Boost cashback from this offer I posted. On 3rd August you mentioned non-tracking here.

If that's the order, it's not quite due for payment yet, probably in about 3 months at least from August i.e. November.

Unlike ShopBack, TopCashback does not add the tracking manually. You won't see it in the "Earnings" page initially. After the claim is paid, then you will see the transaction in your account.

You can check on the progress of your claim or add further info here.

how can I refer a family/friend when my own experience is below par/bad with them .

Unfortunately it's a long wait for cashback for both tracked and missing cashback claims.

          • +2

@trixieb: Yeah that the one mate! I’ve heard from a few folks who’ve reported that their cashback is tracked instantly (TCB). But for me, it’s doesn’t work have few transactions in the past too . I’m not sure why, but I guess TCB needs to step up their game to compete with ShopBack. I’ll keep an eye on it and see how it goes. But I’m not too confident in referring TCB to my friends just yet. I tried referring one of my friends through ShopBack, and guess what? Already got $50 in cashback, and it tracked instantly for both of us! And the best part? We already got the money within 1-2 weeks. Thanks for all your help, mate! Cheers!

            • +1

@Sunnyoz: That's great to hear about ShopBack. I use them too.

All the best with your Boost claim 😀

    • I used to share a TopCashback account with my bro I live with. When there was a recent promotion with a large referral bonus, I referred him, and he opened a new account. We still share the same Amazon account, so I’m a bit worried this could cause issues. Would it be safer to close the new account?

Last year, I referred a family member to ShopBack, too. Since we were on the same IP, I didn’t get the bonus, but we’ve continued using separate accounts without problems.

Suspending an account over this seems excessive, especially since I couldn’t find anything in the terms and conditions that says referring a family member or using the same IP isn’t allowed.

      • +1

Sharing an Amazon account isn't an issue.

        See the rep's reply.

        Here are the general T&Cs:

        4. Site membership and usage

4.1 One account is allowed per person. This is subject at all times to fair usage and one person should not be used to make purchases on behalf of many other people

        6. Earning Cashback

        f) A valid account is in place. If your account is terminated or disabled for any reason, then any Payable Cashback will be deemed to be forfeited.

        10. Termination of your account

10.2 In the event of fraudulent, abusive or other activity we determine to be unfair, we reserve the right to terminate your account.

        16. Fraud prevention

16.1 We operate systems on the Site to deter and limit any fraudulent use or abuse of the Site and reserve the right to apply any fraud prevention measures as we see fit.

Update: Issue resolved after contacting customer support, both accounts released earlier today. For those who got similar issue, try reach out see how it goes.

  • It shows $35 on link, for me. Any catch?

    • +1

Similar to last deal, the banner takes many hours to update as they have to manually change the banner from their end.

TA has reassured me that the deal goes live at 12:00am and that it is active on the backend.

    🪝 🐟 🎣

Hopefully I will get an upsized referral bonus!
Remember to use the Ozbargain referral system.

  • -2

Does this still include the $50 bonus for the person signing up? Or it just becomes $10…

    • What $50? It says $10.

    • Obviously not. Probably straight $50 is much better after you read the comments above.

      • Always the case.

    • $10 for the person signing up.

  • +1

Hey OP, you might make them but I’m not sure you’ll keep them. Imagine finding out your friend got $70 while you only got $10

    • -3

Maybe ask your 'friend' to give you $30 back if that makes you feel better.

  • Wait a few days for the $100 referral bonus.

    • +1

Wait a year for $1million referral bonus. *taps temple*

  • So if a friend signed up before this promo but didn't make any qualifying purchase - but does during this promo period - do I receive this bonus or the one offered when they signed up?

    • The one when they signed up I'm afraid.

  • TCB has stop tracking my each transactions recently .Both phone app and computer orders 😒, so be careful to check each time.

    • Is there any Clicks history on TCB website available like there one on SB and on CB used to be?

      • +2

On the TopCashback website (not app), you can check your last "click" to any retailer in this link. The time updates with each new click.

To view all your clicks in the last 100 days, you will need to visit the missing cashback claims page on the TopCashback website (not app). Select the clicked retailer on the claims page in this link. Here is also where you submit a missing cashback claim for non-tracking.

  • +3

What will your friend think when they learn I get $10 and you get $70? Will they still want to be friends after that?😭

    • +1

      She might divorce you

    • +1

If I buy her dinner yeah maybe.

  • +1

I had a coffee with TA at the Alpine Fortress. Only took 1 second.

    • I hope that second was productive :)

  • +1

Thanks, signed up a random ozbargain referral. Now hoping someone will be my friend too.

  • Tracking with TCB has been amazing since the very start and they’ve always been my go-to cashback provider.

That was my experience too… until very recently, and I mean only since CR announced their closure.
I've now had two of the better cashback deals not track for me with TCB in just the past two weeks. Never before then.
I've also had 4 other cashback deals track perfectly with TCB in the same time.
All the same device, internet, browser and settings used except one time I forgot to turn off the VPN and only realised just after I put the purchase through - but that one did track, go figure.

  • Should it track in your account once friend sigh up? Or once they meet $10? Cause mine not tracking after friend sign up.

  • +1

They will be bought out in under a year. They are building a customer database as that is their biggest asset. Cashrewards going under was the golden goose for them and they are capitalising hard. They will burn funds to get these "customers" then point to existing high click customers as the norm. This will bump their value and a bank will buy them thinking they can do a better job than ANZ. Directors and owners cash out and buy a yacht.

    • +1

TA/TCB's reply in previous $50 referral post on 11/09/25:

Hey guys. Hope you are all well.

We’ve noticed some comments around the sustainability of our model, and we wanted to share more about it. You’re right that $50 is a generous sign-up bonus, and it’s fair to wonder how that’s possible.

TopCashback has been around for 20+ years across multiple countries, and we’ve grown profitably (without debt or outside investors) by keeping cashback as our main focus. In fact, we’re now the market leader in several of those countries.

Unlike many cashback sites that hold back 20-50% of commission to fund larger teams or big marketing budgets, we reinvest all of it straight back into our members. Our approach is simple: offer the best rates, build long-term loyalty, and grow sustainably. It may seem unusual at first, but it’s worked for decades, and as our community grows, we can keep securing even stronger offers for you.

All the very best, and thank you for the continued support. TA.

      • +2

My comment stands. The only value cashback sites have is the number of customers they have. All a buyer is interested in is the customer data.

    • Time will tell… Make sure you bookmark your comment so we can come back if your prediction comes true!

  • sucks on friends, they only got pennies

  • 5 clicks recorded but none recorded on tcb …

  • +1

I was going to get my partner to sign up but living in the same place can get my account banned so NO DEAL…

  • +1

It's the third time they missed tracking the cashback of my recent purchases, even tho I have closed other websites and disabled all ad blockers and their customer services just made all kind of excuses saying why they are not tracked, not happy at all about them.

    • +1

I'm sorry to hear about that. Please send @tightarse a private message maybe he can provide some input.

Every time I use TCB, I normally don't open a new browser or have to close my tabs. My window with 100 tabs still track correctly without issue 99.9% of the time. I just make sure not to click onto any other site after clicking from the TCB site. Same goes with all other cashback providers.

  • +1

this is getting ridiculous, every 2 days goes up.
better not sign up at all wait til it hits $200 next wk.
