I signed up to the last deal an used to grab the free coffee's on the way to work.

Unfortunately there's only one coffee club near me and the manager there was not happy about providing the coffee. He used to argue every time about accepting the voucher, then complain about the almond milk shouldn't be included (which it was), before threatening to call his head office to have them removed.

Its a great deal but it really wasn't worth it in the end, hence I wont be spending any money there in the future.

Your experience echoes mine. Coffee Club don’t like their own vouchers or promotions, and will do their utmost to not honour them.

Doesn’t help that the food is bad. Coffee is average, some of the cakes are tolerable.

Sorry to hear that. It was a very different experience for me. I redeemed both my free sign up and birthday coffee at the same store without any problems. I don't drink normal milk due to various reasons and was expecting to have to pay extra for alt milk but no extra payments needed on both occasions.

          Same.
And I go to several of them.

If there’s an issue with certain outlets it might be worth putting in a complaint tbh.

      • Yes - me too.
Really hard to get the head office offers accepted at Coffee Club stores - I used to have their VIP card, but it got too hard to use it. Tried to do the 2 for 1 to keep things simple. There were all sorts of extras and non-inclusions so that I gave up using it and just blew the money. (public holidays, weekends, cold drinks etc etc.)
I tried with this 3 free coffees last time this deal was around and got too much resistance.
I suspect this offer will be hard to use, but at least it doesn't cost anything.

Can relate, had a different experience in fountain gate though. The girl at reception didn't know how to scan the voucher and she kept saying it isn't working and after arguing she gave us a coffee. Not worth it

    • I had a similarly awkward experience with management when trying to redeem. They allowed it, but it was made more uncomfortable than it needed to be

    • So what are you saying ? Don't sign up ?

I felt a bit embarressed redeeming mine at the same store ( x3) so I bought a little muffin or scone so I didn't look like an absolute cheap ass. The manager gave me a look but didn't say anything. I get the feeling they don't like us claiming the free coffees as it costs them money.

      • You should have your OzBargainer citizenship revoked! Never back down; never surrender.

I had the opposite experience.. my barcode wouldn’t scan but they still honoured the free coffee. Staff were very friendly.

  • Had the same bad experience at their Glen Waverley The Glen shop.

  • What shocks me is the Kj on their food, like double what it should be and I don’t get why.

I ordered a Half Strength Large Long Black, they charged me $1.80 for a non regular menu item. That was 2004, not been back since.

  • +1

This deal becomes more lucrative since 7-11 is increasing coffee prices to $2

    • +1

Still get more than $2 off when doing a fill from the chopper anyway.
7-11 have saved me thousands of dollars over the years so they're alright in my books.

  • +4

Free is free but hands down consistently the worst coffee I've ever had. Will probably still get one lol

    • -2

Worst coffee , but you'll go back for more because it's free ? How much to buy your soul ?

    • It’s a shame people make comments like these.

It could be where you go and not them in general or… you’re one of those coffee snobs who has unrealistic expectations about coffee.

    • Southland is not too bad to be honest. Sipping one right now

    Having 1st free coffee ☕

  • don't forget screenshots these codes right away. they will randomly disappear in any time after a day or so in the app!

You'd think a club built around coffee would be able to make a decent coffee… next thing, someone will tell me the Babysitter's Club don't look after kids anymore.

    • This is true. I find their coffee and bit hit and miss. Definitely doesn't live up to their name!

      • +1

Yeah, I mean it's not undrinkable, but it's not really that good. If they were called milkshake club (which is a suss name now that I think about it) and their coffee was aversge, I'd be fine with that. BTW, I was David Bowie WAS alive.

    • taking advantage of ppl out west that don't have a palette for good coffee

      • "Out west" of where? Sydney?? Are you saying Italians and Lebanese have no "palette" (sic) for coffee??

  • Don’t recommend anyone going to Blacktown coffee club. They made my coffee wrong, after tasting it asked them to make it correctly. They accused me of drinking from it after I knew the drink was wrong.

How was I supposed to know?

    • They accused me of drinking from it after I knew the drink was wrong.

Quite sure it's illegal for them to take a coffee back from a customer (even if the customer says they haven't had any) and do anything besides throw it out, so not sure why they were bothered.
Then again, I've seen people in hospitality "regifting" people's wrong meals behind closed doors (which I think is also illegal).

    • Out of curiosity, what did you order and what did you get?

  • +1

Missus and I just had 3 free. No problemo having them all at once in Coolum (Qld)—what do the part-time youngsters at the counter care besides doing their job and getting paid?

  • Got given the 80c surcharge for alternative milks speech today. It costs 50c to upsize, or add an extra shot. You can do both of these for almost the same price as adding a dash of milk.

  • Seems to have been pulled from the app (redemption barcodes) - although still advertising it…
