  • Good price, but they're pretty much all Brazil logo'd.

    • +1

      They are the originals.
I shopped in the São Paulo store in Jardins and most of them had this, although a lot more designs over there which I'd like to see here.

  • +5

You can find $3 thongs in kmart without Brazil logo.

    • +1

my $20 myer thongs died after three summers

    • +10

I’ve gone through about four pairs of those Kmart ones in a few months… i think it’s time to admit they’re rubbish.

  • +1

My experience is, Kmart $1.70 thongs last longer than Havaianas and is easier to pronounce.

    • +1

The good havianas last longer. Went to the outlet in Bali and got some awesome ones for about $24, they might have been 40% off. I used to get Target ones but they fall to bits so fast. I think the more expensive models are the way forward.

    • +2

I agree, my last 2 Havanans have broken in less than 3 months of use and Kmart cheap flip flops i got after them has already lasted me 6 months.

      • +1

I've got the more expensive havianas and they still look brand new after 3 months.

        • The problem I have with them is the plastic strap breaks off at the center.

          • @zealmax: Ah yeah, it can happen. Still, they do feel nice like their is a bit more rubber in the soles or it is a denser foam.

            • +1

@Budju: The sole is nice and grippy on the Havaianas.

        • +1

They last if you get the good ones.

      • +1

        flip flops

        What are those?

    • +4

There are 2 types of Havaianas.
Cheap ones are made in China, for the budget shoppers, the originals are made in Brasil, which are much more expensive and made to a much higher quality.
A lot of brands do this now.

      • +1

I will be sure to check where they are made in future.

      • How can you tell where they are made? The website link does'nt say.

        • +1

Yeah I've tried finding this also but they don't list it.

I've just ordered 2, hopefully, they are the Brasilian made ones.

          • +1

@SimAus007: Yeah I hope so too, I think they are, I have a black pair that I'm pretty sure I got off Catch and they are made in Brazil. It says it under one of the straps, so make sure you check there when you get them :)

        • +1

They aren't listed on the Havaianas website either, so a little hard to tell (must be an old design).
          https://havaianas.com.au/collections/brazil-collection

      • +1

All legit Havaianas are made in Brazil.
If it's made in China and badged Havaianas, they would definitely be fake.

I would doubt any respectable retailer would sell fake whilst marketing it as the official brand!!

        • +1

All are made OR designed in Brazil.
"All the Havaianas products are made or designed in Brazil. So if the product is not made or designed in Brazil and indicated as such on the labelling, it may be a counterfeit product."

          Further info: https://www.havaianas-store.com/en/How-will-I-know-that-Hava…

This means it could say "Designed in Brazil. Made in China" and it may be a genuine product. "Made in Brazil" are the ones you want.

          • @SimAus007: I think that the European office for Havaianas doesn't know their own history very well!

Taken from the horse's mouth of where the product is produced in Brazil:
            https://havaianas.com.br/faq2.html

Might need to use google translate but there are only 3 production facilities, all in Brazilian cities.

            • @blacknwhite1: Good find. Português is the only other language I speak (other half is Brasilian).
Based on this, you are correct, they are all made in Brasil :)
There are definitely a lot of fakes around, including in Australia (sold at markets/$2 shops).

    • My experience is they break very fast.

    • My experience is the opposite. Havianas isn't exactly something special, but Kmart thongs really isn't anything special. Haivianas are sturdy and last years, even when they are visibly wearing out you can still wear them. The Kmart ones the toe loop thing falls out of the foam day one.

    • Maybe they don't make them like they used to, but I have a pair from 2005 and still going strong.

  • All the cool kids are rocking Crocs or Archie's

    • I'm not cool, but I love my Archie's

      • +1

I'm not cool either, but hate my Archies

  • +3

Ordered and received confirmation email: "Expected by: 9 Apr 2023" - WTF?

    • Just in time for winter.

  • +1

I got some Havaianas and had a blow out after a few weeks. My Billabongs have lasted many summers.

    • Havis are soft, comfortable and more pliable than the more rigid Billabongs.

  • +3

    I got from Amazon
    Very good quality and durable

  • Thankyou hilucas555! I bought some 👍😃

  • +2

    More colours:

    Olive

    Amazonia

Also extra 10% with code from Student beans.

    • Doesn't work. Says code expired

  • +1

ten bucks for a pair of pluggers? nah mate.

  • If it was amazon you'd have me

  • +1

Havaianas just aren't what they used to be. Bought three pairs, they all broke within the year.

  • -1

I wore things as a kid and they were uncomfortable and snapped, regularly. I now wear sandals and haven’t looked back.

  • These were $6.75 few days ago moreover Kogan always have them for cheaper

    • +1

I believe Kogan has imitation ones (wouldn't trust Kogan for fashion).
Contact Havianas Australia to confirm if they are an authorised seller and see what they say. They ask you to do this on their website (if you are unsure).
Havianas made in Brazil should be $25 + some - unless they are getting rid of old designs (the ones in this deal are not listed on their site now so they are clearing them).

  • +1

Shipping $6.95….got a pair. The Aldi version are Chinese made crap.

  • +2

Pretty much all crap now unfortunately.

  • These are the ones made in China not Brazil.
I purchased these when they were $19.99 a few months ago and had to get a new pair 2 weeks back.

  • STILL waiting for shipping to a local K Mart click 'n collect…..ordered 21/09/22

  • Finally got mine and confirm they're the real deal.Good quality made in Brazil.
Don't bother with the $5 Kogan made in China junk.
