Got mine today, fan and starter kit.

The fan is smaller than I was expecting. But it's setup beside me now quietly blowing on the lowest setting. Will be perfect for a couple of summers (hopefully).

Will spend the morning putting all the sensors into home assistant. Fun little deal :)

    • I agree, is a lot smaller than expected, but that said seems to be quieter and more effective than my much larger (and uglier) Aldi DC pedastal fan.

    • the sensors are easy to pair & setup in zigbee2mqtt

Hey Walker Zhang, when will my fan be shipped?

    • Looks like my fan(?) from Walker Zhang is coming today. Hadn't gotten my starter kit yet as I had to redirect it to my work address because it said they wouldn't accept safe drop. Odd that it's fine for the more expensive fan..

      • I have 6 deliveries pending from Walker Zhang on my Auspost app. Are they sending the fan parts by parts? lol-

        • I've got a stack of them processing too, but only one is being delivered. No idea what they did there.

        • I'm awaiting my 7 parcels from Walker Zhang also, none of them are tracking, they just say ready for processing.
Can anyone who has received one of these parcels advise where they are being shipped from?

          • @ToobsAU: Came home to the fan from Walker Zhang waiting for me. Came from Regents Park NSW.

            • @TheContact: My 7 fans are still sitting there ready for processing, wouldn't be surprised if they printed a bunch of labels pending delivery of a new shipment or something

        • I hope they are sending 6 complete fans to each of us.

Just got the starter kit but no fan. Online chat with PCByte, there will be two shipment.

    • Got the fan today. Have not opened the box yet.

    • I also got the kit, but no fan. I await developments

    • Same I thought it was an error

      • Another to add to the pile. No fan.

I got the fan but no starter kit, weird

    • No fan.

Has anyone had any success getting the fan to connect to Alexa or Google assistant? Feeling like maybe it isn't compatible.

    • +1

I came here to ask the same question. For some reason, the door sensor shows up (the most useless one) but not the temperature or fan.

      • +1

I've had a few different brands of temperature and humidity sensors and they've never worked with Google assistant, they show up as a sensor but you can't actually use them for anything. Alexa handles them ok though.
That said I haven't tried to setup the 4 in 1 kit yet, I honestly don't know what I'd do with it.

Perhaps it's time to finally setup home assistant on one of the many RPi I've got floating around doing nothing.

I hear you. I am surprised no one say it here about it not having voice control. Only App control. AKA false advertising.

          • +1

@samkenny: Yes well I knew this would be a possibility considering the Mi fans don't all work with Google assistant, the OP wrote that it had voice control but isn't associated with PCByte, PCByte and the manufacturers advertising don't state voice control as a feature but the rep has posted in this deal and you'd think they could have clarified.

            • +1

@ToobsAU: Actually, the link also states the same as OP. So, OP is clear for that reason. Chatted with support and they couldn't clarify. Their own individual fan link states only app control… I am returning it.

            • @ToobsAU: Agreed, it's super annoying that Google Home isn't properly integrated with these.

But if you are comfortable running/using Home Assistant, then these should all be compatible basically any smart device.

Is there any genius out here who has stuck on hepa filter to it and made it work as an air purifier?

    • +1

You should use the box fan style for that, not pedestal fan

    Thank you for contacting us!

We would like to inform you that we already received a response from our product team regarding the query on voice control.

According to them, voice control will allow you to turn on/off, raise/lower the intensity and set a timer using the Mijia app. Have to use the app and talk to the app through your phone (e.g. "hey Siri pls open mijia home app").

    WOW, much voice control

    • lol! what a load of c..p

  • anyone else's fan come used? Just unpacking my one now and the base wasn't in it's bag, the little rubber feet have been knocked about, one is dirty with some brown grime, and one is missing, and there's marks all over it.

edit: it's also a cheap tacky plastic white colour, not the nice grey from the product pics. I'm guessing that's just misleading photography from Viomi though rather than a mispack?

    • and the fan guard is assembled with the blades inside, so I can't unclip the blades from the shipping bracket on the rear guard to then mount…. lol.

      • I think the box and products are different. It doesn't connect as the smart viomi fan.

        • I'm on China mainland because my other mesh bulbs will only detect in this region and it found the 'Viomi AI DC Inverter floor fan 3' straight away and connected. (On the box it's 5G IoT Smart Tower Fan). doesn't show up in Google home though :/ and the blades making a bit of noise so might have to take it apart and check

Same come used and the fans wobble.

  • Got the starter kit today, no fan :(

    • +1

I got the fan today and kit last week. Qld

  • +2

Got my fan. The swinging isn't aligned, so 180 kinda bends more to one side, no matter if I turn the motor head more.

Nice fan I think, but weird that it recognises itself as something different to what it says on the box

  • My fan has been marked as "delayed" by Aus Post since the 11th Oct. No further updates - just says "waiting to be processed for delivery" after it was in transit to the local facility from the 29/9.

No idea what on earth is going on but seems to be an Aus Post issue more than a seller issue.

    • Same here too
      Very annoying atm
      I'm from Perth

      • Yup also in Perth

        • Likewise. must be floods, or some other excuse.

        • Will keep it update

  • arrived today (Perth, WA)

  • Mine just arrived (Perth) - everything works as expected. The app itself is a bit more limited than I thought, no wind modes etc. which was a bit of a surprise (using the Xiaomi app).

I have two other Xioami fans that have a few extra settings etc. Not the end of the world.

Quite like the remote though :)

    • I got today too!
Build quality is not good and
Blade shaking little bit is it normal?
      I made tighten
