Dyson Airwrap Hair Styler Complete (Prussian Blue/Rich Copper) $649 Delivered @ Travel Pets

100

I was looking for the deal for Dyson Airwrap and I just found this deal yesterday which is nearly $200 cheaper than RRP.
I've checked the site reputation and placed an order yesterday.

Why has this got a report on it, what's the catch?

    • Because this is the first time I order from this site, so I just checked if this site is real site not scam.
Looks like there is another guy placed similar post for hair dryer.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725949

This makes me feel more confident. :)

plz let us know how it goes. i was going to buy a dyson airwrap and i saw this one too. thought it was too good to be true.

Looks like too good to be true

  • How many different models of this are there?
What's the difference between the products for other markets? Is it just the colours or specs are different too?

The price is very tempting if it's not an old model or lower spec product…
    Thanks OP.

    • Looks like there is only 1 airwrap model and 1 hair dryer.
I assume they are pet shop after all.
It is interesting that they also sell those products.

Theres an older and newer model but this one is the newer model based on the base design

"The old Airwrap came with four barrels total (two barrels in each size; one for clockwise curls, one for counterclockwise curls). But the newly designed Airwrap features just two curlers."

"Improved firm and soft smoothing brushes: The upgrade also includes paddle brushes that have more movement and noticeably stronger suction in what the brand calls "enhanced Coanda airflow [which] attracts and aligns hair with increased control for a straighter style.""

In addition there is a long and short option but unless you have extremely long hair like Rapunzel than the short version is sufficient for most people. Worst case if you do decide you grow your hair like extremely long you can buy the attachment for long hair later on. But essentially the main unit itself is the same.

  • Unfortunately I haven't used discount code but other guy placed the discount code.
You can try if you want.

use code FURBABIES for extra 10% off

    • where is the option to use a discount code

      • On payment page you can enter discount code.
I searched for other discount code site but no luck.
But it seems other people found the discount code after all.

  • I've checked the site reputation

What kind of checks did you do and what did you find?

  • Tried checking out but getting the following error at payment page -

"This store can’t accept payments right now."

    • I had the same issue in the beginning but clicking couple of link leads to different payment page.
From the payment page I was able to finish the order.

      • Any ideas which links you clicked to get to a working checkout page? Thanks!

        • If you checkout from cart popup the payment seems failing.
If you checkout from shopping cart page (appears after you add to the cart), the payment looks working.

@josephs: with the option that works, there is no way to add coupon code FYI so a loss of saving 10%

            • @soupfluencer: sorry for that.
I didn't add coupon code anyway so can't help with that.

            • @soupfluencer: Yes, you add the code and then it can't accept payments; if you go to the payment page through the other shopping cart, there's nowhere to enter the discount code. They could well be legit but just a little disorganised - but I don't think I'd take the chance, nor would I want to support such a sloppy business.

Managed to find a direct link to the checkout page that works -

      https://checkout.travelpets.com.au/checkout#/

I had to add a random item into my cart before I could use that link so give that a shot if it doesn't load.

Just make sure you untick the Pet Membership Trial that gets automatically added to cart when you use that checkout.

  • This appears to be an older model, there is now a newer model with different attachments that are supposed to be an upgrade. The newer attachments include a flyaway attachment to attempt to smooth frizz, and the new curling heads are able to switch directions on the same head rather than having to switch heads back and forth depending on what direction you want your curls to go. Also would like to highlight that there is also a longer hair model that is better for medium to longer length hair as the short curling barrels are really for shoulder length hair or shorter.

      Sounds like it.
So it is up to the people who decides to buy older model in cheaper price or pay full price for the newer model.

      • I bought this older model before I knew the newer one was going to come out. Would've held out for the newer one if I'd known what attachments they were going to upgrade - changing barrels to change direction of curl is irritating, and lack of a smoother attachment is a big downer. I also spent another $50 to get longer barrels (in the older version unfortunately) as I didn't realise when I purchased mine that there was a short and long option. But like you said, each to their own.

        • Good information.
According to the other guy commented earlier this looks like newer model but may not include long option.

  • +1

Code FURBABIES brings it down to $584 but can't seem to checkout on the new checkout page.

    • Looks like there are 2 checkout - 1 from cart popup and 1 from full cart page.
      One works and one fails.

Not sure if people are aware but this looks to be an international model as well based on their shipping information. Too many inconsistencies on the site for me to be comfortable enough to purchase but thanks for the post OP.

  • Website looks a bit suss, instagram leads to a dead end… facebook hasn't been posted on for 12 months

  • I'm getting scam vibes for this website.

    • Really?
      That's not good.
I will wait for another couple of days and if nothing happens I may ask credit card transaction revert.
      I will post an update.

      • I just ordered from them, did you ever receive your product? Seeing if I should revert the transaction. Also my card was charged $711 despite ordering for $649 AND getting a confirmation email for $433??

  • Only five star reviews, and a small number - strongly suggests they basically only publish the five star ones .

    Maybe call them?

Contact details can be found at the bottom of their privacy page.

I called the mobile couple of times but no response yet.
The number appears real, so I left a message checking when it will be shipped,
and mentioning I will revert the transaction if no response by tomorrow.
      Will see how it goes.

I wish they sell gray stock at least.

      • Thanks for doing the legwork - keep us posted!

  • +2

IF its too good to be true, it usually is unless its sold from Amazon AU.

hi OP, have you got any updates for your order?
I placed one on Wed but heard nothing since then.

    • I sent an email on 20/9/2022 but didn't get any response.
I called to the mobile couple of times but no response.
So, I requested disputing the transaction from the bank.

    • I received an email from CBA that the dispute was processed. Will get refund in couple of days.

      • thanks for update this. I raised a dispute as well.
However, i got a reply from the seller saying they receive high volume of orders, and mine will be dispatched in the next 3-5days if you don’t cancel the order.

        • This is an interesting situation.
I received the refund but last week I also received the email from pet travel where the item is dispatched through DHL.
I've sent couple of email that I didn't want the item but still no response.

          • @josephs: Did you ever end up receiving it?

  • +1

This seems very dodgy… I ordered.. and didn't receive any confirmation emails.. and have had a very large amount in AUD go through to SWEET DILLS in CA… no one answers the mobile on their FB page and no replies to emails.. PROCEED WITH CAUTION
