  • do they sell the 3g version?

    • samsung aus is not stocking the good stuff.
You have to import the 3G version.

I've +ve for the officeworks comment!

  • Nice deal!

  • I have the 10% discount code from my previous purchase from OO.com.au does it mean I'll be paying only $359.96? That is even lower after the OW price beat? 1 Q, upgrade to ICS available yet?

    • Sorry for this silly question, but what is OW ? can you provide the website address ? thanks.

      • +1

        officeworks :)

      • +1

        OW = Officeworks

        silly indeed!

      • +11

The only silly question is one not asked.
OW stands for Office Works and is a popular comparison here, due to their price matching policy.
they will generally match any advertised price and then take a further 5% off.
here is a link to their site www.officeworks.com.au

  • I've been looking at the 7.7's for a while now.
Good price but I think I might hang out for the GT-P6800

    • What's the diff?

      • +1

        GT-P6800 - WiFi and 3G
        GT-P6810 - WiFi only

        That's pretty much it.
Just waiting for the price drop.

        • Zero What's the lowest price you found so far for GT-P6800 ? It's $497.97 + shipping @ http://www.dutyfreecentral.com/tbcart/pc/Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-…

        • Lol, I'm not paying $527.92 for a it. It will be closer to $400/$450 soon enough, I'll wait.

        • if you get that prize just send me a msg as well, i m looking to buy tht one as well. thanks in advance mate :)

        • Will do :)

  • The ow website says online only :S
Also, been looking online and there doesn't seem to be an ICS update yet - which is dissappointing considering this tablet has been out for a year so.. :(
Nonetheless good price if u can get it at ow!

    • +1

Call them and they will delivery it.

  • No ICS yet but it's perfectly useable even with Honeycomb. This is a fantastic price for a 32gb. Paid $450 for mine about 6 months ago.

  • Lenovo is $439 for 10.1" 64gb wifi

    • Slower, bigger, heavier, and screen resolution lower

      • and no community support - xda

  • I had bought/used many Android Tablets.

    Optus My Tab
    Toshiba Thrive 10
    Motorola Xoom

    and now

    Galaxy Tab 7.7

It is the single best Android Tablet that I've used. The screen is beautiful, the size and weight is perfect, and packs enough grunt to do almost everything I can throw at.

Get it if you can afford it. You won't regret the purchase.

I wish I had just bought this in the first place instead. Otherwise I would have save good deal of money instead of buying and selling the tablets.

    • Rep, u sure tab 7.7" is better than xoom and toshiba 10"? Not because you are trying to sell tab 7.7"?

      • Check some reviews and find out for yourself.

      • Yes. The tab 7.7 has the best screen right now and the processor should be at the very least on par with the quadcore tegra 3 (the graphics anyway). I would purchase this but my finances are currently invested elsewhere.

        • -1

          yeah right.

      • It is better but it costs more (that's comparing discounted prices). The CPU/GPU is better. The ability to do a screenshot easily is a nice touch.

However, the 7 inch Toshiba was about $201 (after OW price match) a few weeks back. Acer A500 (10 inch) 32GB was $299 about 10 months ago. That said, when you put Galaxy Tab 7.7 right next to the Toshiba 7 inch IPS tablet, there is no doubt the Galaxy Tab 7.7 has a better screen (colours/contrast/overall).

But… iPad 2 (16GB though) is around $399 (discounted price).

    • Well nothing beats Optus My Tab on feature vs price ($99). Of course now Optus My Tab is way behind everyone else. But it is still usable for me surfing the web and play some games like StickCricket.

      • Optus My Tab has 3G, making it hard to pick a tablet that beats it in every aspect at that price. But if you don't need 3G, you can get a cheapo tablet for $95, running Ice Cream Sandwich, have 'capacitive' touch screen, multi-touch, play 1080p mkvs smoothly, 8GB memory built in.

      • +1

Nah, The galaxy tab from telstra at 299$ on feb 2011 is better IMO

      • Nothing? Rubbish. $99 for HP Touchpad running ICS.

  • does it have DLNA feature ? i figured there are various models available in 7.7. is there a source where i can compare all the models ? thanks.

    • YES..DLNA, I just got mine from OW.

  • Cheers sonic2011 - one of my work colleagues asked me to look at this item last night … was just about to tell them "I've found it for $45X - much cheaper than OW!", and you posted this deal :) BARGAIN !! :)

  • edit

  • Bought 1 with 10% off voucher paid $360. Not sure to thank or hate OP because of this post I bought something I never thought I would buy. Hope it is worth it.

    • WOW! Where did you get the voucher from? Mind sharing it? :D

      • it is an one off voucher code but I tried to add 10 items in my cart and I could get 10% off the total if I wanted to. Eventually I ended up buying only one as none of my friends wanted me to order for them with the 10% off voucher.

  • -1

i would wait for windows 8 to come out

  • -1

Think very hard before buying this. Also, as an owner of a 7" tablet I think the screen is just too small for web browsing (hate agreeing with Jobs).

    • Yes and no. The width is fine without having to scroll left and right if it is rotated to browse net in landscape but keep on scrolling up and down is sometimes quite annoying. You get the portability that a 10" doesn't give you and that is why it is for on the go. Depends on how do you use it but it is unusual Samsung Australia does not carry the 3G model if it is marketing those on the go customers. The deal is over anyway, I hope I made the right decision buying one with the 10% off voucher and those my friends regret for not taking the benefits of 10% off by joining my orders.

  • Clicked on the link, can't see the 32GB, only the 16GB.

  • It is expired 9am today. Anyone knows where to get a case for this tab other than eBay?

  • Hey guys i got one in febuary for 470$ in feb so this price is really good. But i gotta say im a bit dissapointed with the battery life. I get around 5 hours of web browsing which really sucks. It also can lag at times but hopefully ICS will fix this. Anyways heres a vid i did of the battery life

    • You have troubles getting a good quality case for your tab 7.7? Belkin only makes cases for tab 10.1 and 7 but not 7.7! Those on eBay Chinese cases look dodgy. Should have checkout the accessories before I bought it.

      • I actually got a really good one from ebay, it was part of a bundle for 18 bucks, it came with, car charger, touch pen, usb cable, 2 screen protectors and the leather case with stand. Its a pretty good case seems pretty solid

        • Mind to share the link? Thanks in advance.

        • The deal has expired a long time ago sorry but you should be able to find a good case
