  • This saved me $4.53 today and was a nice surprise when I opened the app. A tank still cost me $90 though >.<

      Cries in diesel hilux haha

    • +5

      My Prado’s tank is 150L >_<

      • +1

My Prado 120 is 180 ltrs…cost me $160 for around half a tank W discount today

        • +10

My Corolla hybrid is 40 L and gets me about 900-1000km per refill.

          • @Trishool: How my non hybrid one only last 500km per tank??

          • @Trishool: My Prado is 130L and gets me 800km lol

            • +1

              @Zackeroo: Wow. 16l/100km.

              • @theguru1: Yup, 22 year old car. It's supposed to get 15L/100km, but considering it's only 1L off with 350,000kms on it, I can't complain.

      • I feel your pain. My VX arrived a couple of months before Russia invaded Ukraine and sent diesel prices spiralling out of control. If you don't laugh you'll cry.

    • +1

Two days ago it was $1.50 in brisbane now $1.95, but apparently in the news the ACCC is going to monitor and ensure there's no price gouging when the fuel excise comes back on 🤦

      • Well Brisbane have it better, in Sydney prices have gone over $2 two days ago

    • valdmir putin would offer you 1 million to restock his tanks

Is there a way to be a my Toyota member without owning a Toyota?

Create an account from a friend's Toyota maybe?

    • +3

You are not missing a lot anyway. Its fuel is usually more expensive and lower quality than others.

      • Not always just wait until lower end of the curve then try your luck to stack this on top of Woolworths everyday rewards. If so that's 12 cents off

        • ? I thought Ampol wasn’t part of Woolworths anymore and the 4c Woolworths fuel discount couldn’t be used at Ampol anymore?

          • @wtfnodeal: No Everyday rewards still works at Ampol stations I thought I used it two weeks ago, just need to have the servo branded as such

          • +1

@wtfnodeal: Ampol was never part of Woolworths Group.

In late 2003, Woolworths Group and Caltex Australia entered into a joint venture, where they would operate co-branded Caltex and Woolworths (or Safeway in Victoria) service stations across Australia.

            • Woolworths Group set the retail prices and any applicable redemption discounts (e.g. fuel discounts earned by customers at Woolworths/Safeway, BIG W or BWS).

            • Caltex Australia managed site operations at joint venture sites and supplied the fuel.

This more or less continued until 2015, when Woolworths Group and Caltex Australia changed their working relationship; most of the joint venture locations were transferred to Woolworths Group for them to handle operations, with Caltex Australia integrating around 130 of these sites into their own network. However, Caltex Australia continued supplying fuel to Woolworths Group fuel sites and allowing the redemption of Caltex StarCash and StarCard cards at these sites. Most of the Caltex Australia sites that used to be part of the joint venture also continued to accept physical WISH, Woolworths Petrol and Essentials gift cards issued by Woolworths Group, as well as fuel discount vouchers issued by Woolworths Group.

Woolworths Group finally sold off its fuel business to EG Group in early 2019 (after a couple of years of trying to find an appropriate buyer), which is the reason you now see EG branding at fuel sites that were once operated by Woolworths Group.

(If you were not aware, Caltex Australia rebranded themselves to Ampol in 2020, due to Chevron - the owner of the Caltex trademark - issuing a notice to terminate the licensing agreement regarding the Caltex trademark at the end of 2022, which meant that Caltex Australia had to transition to different branding by the end of 2022).

In terms of how the relationship works today:

            • There are currently 607 Ampol locations that accept Everyday Rewards (i.e. allow you to earn Everyday Rewards points on most purchases).

            • There are currently 222 Ampol locations that accept the Woolworths fuel discount voucher issued to Woolworths customers (6c/L in Tasmania, 4c/L in the rest of Australia). Most of these locations used to be joint venture sites and are typically located near Woolworths supermarkets. Five of these locations are in Tasmania, where Everyday Rewards is not actually accepted at any Ampol or EG locations across the state. That means you can redeem a 6c/L discount from presenting an Everyday Rewards card, but you cannot earn any Everyday Rewards points.

            • 213 Ampol locations used to accept physical WISH and Essentials gift cards issued by Woolworths Group, but this arrangement ended a year ago.

Just use carsales.com.au and look for a Toyota plate.

        unethical life pro tip

        • Me wonders if Toyota actually checks in their DB multiple Regos need added to more than one account

        • Better than an unethical pro life tip

      • You would also need the VIN number to add a car to the Toyota app

    • +3

Create an account from a friend's Toyota maybe?

Just grab the details from one next time you park at the supermarket.
Look for some old person that wouldn't use a smart phone.

  • Tried using my discount the other day, wouldn't scan for some reason, was only 4c so didn't care that much, but not sure why it occured and other users at that station apparently had no issues .

    • Your arms must not have reached far enough.

      • That irreverence, that wit I'd recognise it anywhere. Some charlatan has stolen a Ziggy and
passed it off as his own.

  • Has anyone tried this with LPG or 91? I could only see the Gazoo racing condition that said offer was valid for 95, 98 and diesel only

    • +3

The T&Cs does say “Offer available on Unleaded, Premium 95, Premium 98, Premium Diesel & Diesel, up to 150 litres, at participating service stations only.” So unleaded 91 is included but LPG isn’t

      • Thank you, I can't read >.<

        • -2

          I can't read

Then how did you reply to the previous comment if you couldn't read it?

    • +1

      It won’t.

I do not see an EG Ampol location on the participating location list. I compared this list with the list of all Ampol and EG locations on the Ampol store finder, and all the results on the Toyota website are for non-EG locations.

EG Ampol locations also do not have the correct type of barcode scanners to read 2D barcodes, which is the type of barcode you get supplied to claim this offer. (That is the main reason that you cannot redeem AmpolCash Digital gift cards at EG Ampol.)

  • If you are a origin energy customer u can get 4c liter @EG

I just ordered my car so I should be able to use this deal in about 4 years

    • Let me guess. Rav Hybrid?

  • +1

Filled up the car after 10pm last night in Perth which was a nice surprise when I saw 8coff. Didn't realise it was a deal 10 minutes fresh.

  • Can you stack with nrma or Woolworths discount?

    • Officially speaking, no. (The linked commenter is an Ampol worker.)

Unofficially speaking, Ampol’s POS system should let you stack this offer with a Woolworths 4c/L or 6c/L discount, but it is ultimately up to the Ampol operator whether to allow this. I’m not sure whether Ampol’s POS system will let you stack two partner discounts in the one transaction (e.g. myToyota and myNRMA).

      • +2

        I get mixed results.
Ampol O'Connor WA - I got the myToyota and Woolworths 4c off.
Ampol Livingston WA - I got the myToyota discount and Woolworths points.

For me, when combining the above discounts with RewardGateway 5% off, they are usually the cheapest servo . (But it means scanning 3 cards and confusing the attendant)

        • Maybe one is Starmart and the other is MetroGo?

I had one discount applied at a MetroGo and the operator seemed not doing any more.

  • +2

Ahhhh, is that why Toyota have jacked the price 500-1800 bucks on most of their cars…

    • It’s actually bit more ..

      • +1

Oh wow that sucks! My car was written off and i ordered a new one asap but that was after may 16th. Looks like I'm not price protected.

  • Thanks op got the amex 60-5 as well.

  • No use for me 8c discount when every other servo is already 40c cheaper. (Perth)

    1. Offer is limited to one transaction per vehicle registered on myToyota during a 24-hour period from the time of the last transaction.

What does this mean, I can fill up my car every 2nd day and get 8c off a litre each time? So fill up, go home and bleed tank dry, then go fill up again after 24 hours?

  • +2

My 7 eleven app saved me $12.61 (40cents per litre )

  • -1

Can this deal be used with ampol gift cards?

    • How many litres is your gift card? Discount is 8c/lt.

    • +1

      Yes.

The only payment method I can think of that you cannot use in conjunction with any fuel discount vouchers at Ampol is fuel charge cards (e.g. AmpolCard).

    • +2

Yes, I have used them + the discount on the app before with no problem.
You can even use the Woolworth rewards, Toyota discount and then the gift card.
I purchase them through shopback and think I got 5% discount.

    • That's what I do, I buy discounted egift Ampolcash and use it to pay for fuel. Cheapest one I have found is Shopback for 3% - does anyone know of a better one?

      • 5% off AmpolCash Digital gift cards exist, but the portals that sell them require access via an employer’s reward program or an existing insurance policy. Take a look at the Ampol / Caltex entry on the discounted gift card page for more info.

Ampol also sell their physical AmpolCash gift cards at a 5% discount at participating Ampol locations once or twice a year… and these physical gift cards can be used at all Ampol locations across Australia, including EG Ampol / Caltex Woolworths locations.

  • What petrol price comparison app do you guys use? I use the ACCC site and then the RACQ app to first check the price trend, then I use GasBuddy and Google Maps to compare prices around me. If I want to make sure I'm not missing any bargain, I have a peek at FuelMap and PetrolSpy. Finally I run the 7Eleven fuel slot machine, and lock it if it's close to the minimum I've seen in other apps, and the trend is bottoming out. That's all well and good, but… I really wish there was an app I could:

    1. Input the discounts I have—8c at Ampol, 4c at Puma (RACQ), 4c at Caltex (with some Coles shopping)…—and factored that in the comparison, instead of my having to do it all in my head; and
    2. Input my car's fuel consumption and L to be purchased, and also factored in the cost of getting to the service station.

Anyone knows an app that does any of these (or both)?

    • +2
    • Oh, forgot (and too late to edit comment now)… It'd also be great to:

      • Input my car's estimated fuel consumption of different fuels (and perhaps even of different stations) to compare prices across all fuels it takes (e.g. 91 vs 95 vs 98 vs E10).
    • Thats quite the effort, how much fuel do you use a week or save?

      • Blasphemy! What sort of OzBargainer do you think you are??

  • Toyota: Our drivers won't like spending $340 a tank of fuel.. let's give them 8c off a litre.. $11 savings

  • I'm guessing this doesn't apply to E10?
    Can anyone confirm? Thanks.

    • It's 8c discount on any type of fuel.

      • Awesome many thanks!

      • Not on LPG

  • Did not know about My Toyota app this would be handy

  • -1

    Ampol gift cards allowed?

    • It is per litre of fuel purchased & scanning the app. QR Code. How you pay is up to you.

  • Not for cars made in 2000 or earlier :(

  • Tried to use it a Unaderra Ampol station as recommended by the app

Counter refused to scan the barcode saying he was independant and doesn’t accept the discount

    Not happy Jan

  • Managed to buy diesel at Strathfield south with the discount, but they refused to stack with everyday rewards card. Still pretty good for the Prado
