  Notice the adidas shoes I bought started to degrade even without wearing them. The shoe laces became chalky. The Stan Smith outsole got discoloured, hardened and slippery, Wonder if anyone has similar experience?

    Ive had expensive brand name work boots fall apart never worn… Im told storing them in the dark ruins the rubber, they need light.

      UV light degrades rubber, I doubt it was the darkness that degraded them.

        Or UV sets the rubber. But its the glue that went. Sole fell off. Then the other within an hour of putting them on. When queried i was told dont store them in the dark. Brand was Steel Blue
