Seiko Turtle Eucalyptus - Limited Edition $895 SRPJ53K

hello watch fans,

Noticed this watch is supposed to be a limited edition of 1,000 pieces only for Australia.

Any thoughts?

Am assuming best place to buy is from Starbuy or Wallace Bishop?

cheers

Looks good but out of my budget. I would probably just buy a green or blue Steeldive SD1970 for ~$115.00 after cashback.
This is a bargain website after all.

      • Nice post, didnt realise the Steeldive came in Green. Do these "limited edition" models increase in value by any chance over the long term?…I only found out about this model since a friend ordered one..I figured I would check here first on what experts such as yourself thought

I'm not an expert, never claimed to be. Not sure what will happen in the future but it's possible if it actually is a limited edition.

          Increase in value

          Yes and no.
If you definitely want one eventually, best to get it at ~20% off while it's still being stocked, otherwise you will be paying a premium once it's discontinued/sold out. This applies to pretty much everything else, watches or not.
If you plan to buy a Seiko hoping to offload it later for more money (investment), you will struggle as there is simply very little demand. Seiko releases LEs after LEs every year, so limited run does not equal valuable/sought after.

I’d take the green steeldive for sure haha

Most likely better lume too. It beat more expensive models in the Lume Wars.

      • out of my budget

        Individual or total budget?

How many watches do you own?

Might be ok if it wasn't just plain brushed stainless case and metal band.

Needs a better/darker colour to contrast the green.

  • Looks ok but not for me.
