Any of these with BC (bayonet) type connection ?

  • Does it come in a bayonet version?

    Does it support jpeg?

    • No only giffy

Screw into a lamp socket. Interesting concept.

The problem I see with these is you would have to forgo having a light. You usually have light fixtures for light bulbs where you need light lol. I couldn't see anything on the listing for light output.

    • Front porch instead of a ring doorbell.

I never use my front porch light other than if I remember to leave it on for a good delivery driver

      • Fair enough. My light at my front door is automated so it turns on in the evenings as I approach my home. I have a video doorbell anyway so no great loss.

    • Agree, would have been better if it comes with a light . But not bad for the price.

    • It says on the listing page that it has "4 super bright LED beads and 4 infrared night vision lights" - most cheaper colour night vision cameras use LED lights to get the colour night vision. How you actually turn the LEDs on without it being a pain though is the question - the power to the light socket would need to be on all the time for the camera to work, so the LEDs would either need to be turned on by the app or they may be able to be turned on by motion detection.

    • It does have a light. There are 4 white led plus IR led.

Can use either via motion sensor.

It also has subject tracking too.

I installed this at the front of my house.

      Pretty good picture quality.

App is terrible. Recommend getting the previous version of the app

Can it be used without app and in a more dumbed down scenario like jpeg or rtsp?

      • App is terrible. Recommend getting the previous version of the app

Yi IoT? Or JXLCAM for this version?

        • Sorry I was referring to Yi IOT

    • You can buy double adapters for light sockets but the camera will be leaning to one side. They come in different style so maybe you can find one that has a normal socket and other socket is side facing.

    • Just get an electrician to run power to the same spot and install a second bulb socket for the original light.

If only they make a version with a led light built in also so we dont lose light functionality also.

    • Good suggestion.

    • It does have it. White led that can be always on or motion sensing at night

      • Yea those 4 leds aren't exactly bright tho. I mean like a 5w led to light up a room kind of power.

        • +1

          Interesting fetish ;)

        • It's surprisingly decent. Enough to light up my front yard

  • what do they mean by colour night vision? last time i checked, IR cameras are black and white

    • Colour night vision is a real thing that's existed in a lot of cameras by using the LEDs and IR. Essentially low light night vision. Dahua, Hikvision and heaps of others offer it.

Worth checking out some of it on YouTube.

      • ok so its light vision

        • More than that, I believe.

I'd say they're using the IR LEDs to get the actual image and then the normal LEDs to "colourise" it, as the IR camera + IR LEDs will be able to get more "image" at night than the standard camera + standard LEDs; but as you rightfully pointed out, the IR combination can't do colour.

    • Uses white led at night

  • Got one to test with. I'm not sure if bulbs work everywhere but hopefully coming from China means it won't have issues with 240v.

  • Unsure if this is the same one but unsure if the app is subscription based.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cpm6sFooFxs

    • Nah that uses the Yi IoT app and this one doesn't. Earlier versions of the app in that video don't push the cloud.

    • This one uses an app called JXLCam, doesn't seem to be subscription based, but also doesn't get a very high rating - 1.9 on the apple store, 2.2 on the play store.

    • Mine uses the Yi IOT app. it's horrible

      • Have you tried adding it to SmartLife?

        • Yeah it doesn't work.
Originally the one I bought said it worked with tuya. It does not.

          Only works with Yi IOT.
Not sure if mine works with jxlcam too

Wonder how these will go in the weather/rain

    • +1

Keep it under the eaves. It's fine.

      • Kinda have to being in a light fitting and all…

  • Does this support ONVIF?

    • I checked and it doesn't sadly.

  • What is the law for those security cameras in Australia?

ie. outside the house or the in front door etc.

    • +2

No law prohibiting you from having a camera on your own private property.

      • -3

        Are you sure about that??
So basically, any cameras must be internal only?
That does not make sense, and would exclude all ring cameras, etc.
I do have camera at my porch as well as my backyard. The field of vision is still only within my property, but the cameras are outside.

        • So basically, any cameras must be internal only?

That's not what I said. I said you're allowed to have cameras on your own property.

        • Was Clear not Clear enough?

          • +1

@ProlapsedHeinous: I think I see it now. Had I gone "No, law prohibiting you…"

    • On your property pointing within your property boundary.

      • How about in the front door then?

        • The dunny door is recommended

  • If it's 1080p (1920x1080) then why does it state Pixel: 1 million pixels, Image Scale: 4\3?

  • Out of stock,
    deal finished ?

  • I suspect they don't know what the Z in PTZ means.

  • +1

Would these be easy to steal?

    • My first thought too - just unscrew the camera: free camera. No tools required!

  • +4

I'll check with Geekbuying Monday to see if there's a restock for anyone who missed out. I was going to snag one myself and missed out too 😅

    • That's what you get for looking after deals here………you need to do what we all do and buy first and everything else comes after :-)

      • +1

The worst part is when it comes to freebies. You sign up a day early, post the deal and then get your order cancelled while others don't.

  • +3

    Back in stock.

  • Anyone received two different branded cameras (JXLCAM and VI365)?

Colour night vision / even infrared doesn't work and recording is constantly black in the dark..

Needs LED lights constantly turned On to have a somewhat clear visible recording lol 🙂

    • +1

same problems mine didnt come with one of the wire bulb holder screws and lens wasnt covered with plastic film. cant see anything at night without turning on another light. i cant get it to move or turn led lights on not sure if its faulty or im doing something wrong. the box bar code is in Chinese with 360 so is the vi365 app the correct one to download?

      • If you received the tiny Instruction user manual it tells you which app to use. As its two different firmware versions the two apps might not be interchangeable between the cameras. I might be wrong… YI IoT app, I wasn't able to connect any of the cameras to it even with old app version, not sure if the cams need a specific firmware update…

  • got leds to turn on . i had to turn on motion sensors via the VI365 app and adjust the angle. still cant get it to turn or do a 360 turn or tracking with the app. camera stays stuck in same position app is terrible. should i do a factory reset and try to register it on the JXLCam or the Yi IOT app instead?

    • +1

Try Yi IOT. But use an older version of the app.
I'm using it and it works well.

Current version has an annoying pay wall so I use a previous version
