  • Not a bad price. Doesn't seem to show up on OW stock trackers though.

Just noting this is now 3 generations old, and there have been some significant improvements in that time.

New one is ~$630 with a couple of accessories.

    • Think image stabilsation is still about the same is it?

are the improvements really worth almost doubling of the price?

      • The Hero10 is a significant improvement over the 8, the 11 will widen the gap further.

I watched some comparison reviews recently comparing 7-10 and 10 came up as as eating batteries and overheating when compared with others. Seemed like 9 is the way to go.

    • Where did u find gopro 11 at 630?

      • Link is down below there, but you can probably just go to gopro.com and it will take you to the Au store.

Was in the market recently to buy a older GoPro for a existing project. Found out that GoPro 8 Blacks had some major manufacturing issues. Check JBs site for all the reviews.

    • Can confirm that. Got one from Jbhifi and it wouldn't turn on the second time. But that seems to be limited to JBhifi stock though. Seems like they have gotten a defective or refurbished batch.

  • Maybe good enough as a B camera or for rough use.

This camera is 3 generations old. Sure, it's $100 off the asking price of $450, but there's some lunacy here because the brand new, announced-this-month, GoPro Hero 11 Black, with significantly better technology and specs, is selling directly from the GoPro website for only $400.

    See here:

The extra $50 is extremely worthwhile to get a camera that is brand new and has just hit the market this month. This is peak technology. Why buy something 3 generations old to save 50 bucks?

Definitely, with all my respect to the OP, not a good deal. I hope people find this helpful.

That is the US shop and USD.

      • Realistically its $700 because you only get that price if you subscribe ($69) to GoPro for at least 1 year. Otherwise full price is $800.

The $629 includes the $70 for the first year subscription.

          • @djkelly69: Yep, you're 100% right, just noticed the accessories bundle is now the same price as the standalone hero11. Good luck to me deciding which action cam to buy now. I was just about set on the DJI 3.
