These make for a wicked shower speaker, I got one of those stick on hooks and just leave it in the shower until it needs charging again.

  • Great price! These are a Wirecutter pick at USD$100 price point.

    Got two of these!
You can link them so they provide separate left and right channels from your audio device (or can be run as two separate speakers from the one audio device- with left and right channels to each, for instance the same music in different rooms).

Terrific battery life and nice well rounded sound (not too tinny, not overdone on bass… just nice and neutral).
Got some decent volume on them too, so will happily churn out a decent level of sound even in an outdoor environment (we use them around the pool and bbq area).

For this price are very good value. I paid double this around 2-3 years ago, and have been very happy with them. Battery still going good to.

    Buy with my blessing :).

Nice, did a quick check on EB Games eBay store when I posted the deal, and couldn't find it anymore.

Just note guys that Officeworks might reject the pricematch since EBgames has this as "price reduced to clear" so best to call up local OW first

    • They usually dont scroll down far enough

    Boom 3 or this?

I already ordered the Megaboom 3 from eBay ready to pick up and I’m tempted on these.

Are these superior to boom 3 I suppose these are more portable than boom 3.

    • +1

      Portability = Wonderboom 2
      Loud/Better Sound = Megaboom 3

    • +2

Or go with actual Boom 3 which is somewhere in between Wonderboom and Megaboom - as you might expect.

  • Loud and better I suppose you mean boom 3 as I was comparing these wonderboom to boom 3.

As I have the Megaboom 3 ordered to pick up that’s possible the best of the bunch.

I was after portability which im sure wonder would win here but it’s maybe not as good as the boom 3.

I take none of the booms have 3.5 connections as was looking for something to use with a projector to possibly get extra sounds a set up that will be used and packed away when not in use.

    • I literally just did 5 minute google to compare the three before I went for the wonderboom myself.
from what i've read based on reviews the sound quality difference did not seem "huge", whereas the physical dimensions difference between wonderboom and the other two is quite big.
battery life is also only a little bit better on the boom3 so it's not really a differentiator. if battery life was important then actually the big step up is the wonderboom 3.
the other noticeable difference is the boom 3 comes with a mobile phone app that allows you to configure stuff, whereas wonderboom doesn't have this feature. I didn't look into exactly what you could do with the app because i wasn't interested but that might be useful for others.

      • "from what i've read based on reviews the sound quality difference did not seem "huge", whereas the physical dimensions difference between wonderboom and the other two is quite big."

If you look at the teardowns you will notice the Wonderboom 2 has the same dual opposing speaker drivers as the Boom 3 for 360 sound. The speakers might look smaller in the Wonderboom 2 but that's just because the Wonderboom 2 is actually quite a bit larger in diameter than the Boom 3. The Wonderboom 2 is 3.75″ in diameter (95.3 mm) and the Boom 3 is Diameter: 73 mm (2.8”), almost an inch in difference which is quite a lot. I assume this larger diameter design of the Wonderboom 2 is to increase the surface area to allow for the larger passive radiators https://i.ytimg.com/vi/yu--dd0xj0w/maxresdefault.jpg which are only slightly smaller in surface area to the Boom 3's passive radiators https://guide-images.cdn.ifixit.com/igi/XT1ej1tOIlMVpDZU.med….
Also because of the larger diameter of the Wonderboom 2 their should also only be a minor difference in total internal volume.

In my opinion both the Wonderboom 2 and Boom 3 are technically very similar regarding sound output capability. The only major differences I can see are the battery size which allows Wonderboom 2 to have 13 hours of playback while Boom 3 can manage 20 hours. Another difference seems to be the Wonderboom does not support the App, which can be a good thing after reading feedback that states the "Bluetooth on" feature of the Boom 3 causes the speaker to drain it's battery much more quickly when it is turned off and not in use. Because there is no App support on the Wonderboom 2 it should not suffer from the battery drain problem.

        • oh wow, did not know that the app support is potentially a negative. nice insights. reinforced my decision to go with the wonderboom over the other 2.

  • Keen on it but no stock within 100km of Melbourne and $15 "priority postage" with startrack delivered by end of next week.

  • These were a great buy at $89 from JB so for this price it's a steal. Really impressive sound for something so small and super, super easy to get connected and use.

  • Robust as heck, has withstood everything I have thrown at it.
