Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro + Pro Charger Cradle + 25W Wall Charger $536 ($486 after Newsletter Code) @ Samsung Education Store

140

Great deal for anyone that wants the Watch 5 Pro!

Head to Education store, select the Watch 5 Pro, configure watch as follows:

  • Watch 5 Pro Bluetooth $569
  • Choose a sport band of your choice $583.20

During Checkout

  • Cost will be updated to $536 (cost of sports band deducted as part of promotion)
  • Pro Charger Cradle added as freebie
  • 25w Wall Charger added as freebie
  • if you have a newsletter code, enter that to -$50

Total cost: $486

I followed the above but with the 4G version and it came to $526 which is a fantastic price IMO. I don't believe there is any alternatives out there that can match or better this as a Wear OS Watch (45mm, Titanium Build , Sapphire glass, Wear OS 3, 3 day battery etc).

  • Free cradle with the normal version.

$576 (Before the newsletter discount) for the 4G version, might be a better choice for some!

    • I have read that the watch overheats and battery diminishes quickly when 4G reception is poor, will be interested to hear those who have bought one.

      • 4G on the watch 4 is horrible, if in low reception area and not connected to bluetooth, the battery will run out almost 1% a minute.

      • Haven't read that but thanks for the heads up!

As it was only $40 difference moving to the 4G version, I went with that from a future proofing standpoint (in the hopes that MVNO's will support smart watches/e-sim in the near future.

U can currently use a standalone prepaid serivce by scanning the esim on the watch.
You just need to enabled developer options on the app

          • +1

@hopper: how do you scan on your watch?

            • +1

@LabaLaba: Open galaxy wearable app on phone > menu > about galaxy wearable > tap multiple times on galaxy watch plugin > esim option

          • @hopper: thanks for the info!. Can you also pair it to a phone at the same time for calls?

            • @haz: If I were you, I would redirect all unanswered calls to the watch number so that you are always covered.

  • Im still getting $639.20 as my total after following all the steps. The cradle and fast charger are automatically added, however the total price (ex delivery) isn't coming out at $536.

    EDIT: All good, working now.

After dealing with Samsung support from the watch 4 burning my wife's arm I won't buy another Samsung product

    • Burning?? As in she had 1st degree burns?

      • I'd imagine if she left it on her wrist yeh.. the watch was 2 hot to touch for about 20min sent it back to Samsung told no issues tried again issues came up sent to Samsung told no issues watch went in the bin

        • Samsung have easily the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

Looks like they aren't selling anywhere near as well as was anticipated. Sales so soon after release.

    • +1

Yep! doesn't help that they start at $799 for the bluetooth model which IMO is excessive. Plus, the "Pro" hasn't really proven itself in anyway other than having better battery life over the standard models.

Will wait couple more months, it will come down under 500 for lte model

  • Pixel watch out in few months, samsung watch will go down as they no longer have the exclusivity of the new version wearOS.

    • Dunno Bout that. Samsung always have high resale value whether it's phones or other tech.

      • Not really lol, Apple products is the one have high re-sale value.
If you comparing android phone then is kinda right because Samsung software update goes longer than most manufacturer.
For other product such as vacuum cleaner, fridge, TV, Monitor, PC parts its all depends on the competition.
Look at historical Samsung Watch 4 price on ozbargain they go down so much in a year.

        • Perhaps so but time will tell whether people shit themselves in clamouring for the Pixel Watch or not. I assume there will be some pent up demand but as a product i have a feeling it's gonna suck balls

        • Only for limited iPhones. 80% of the world is Android or Harmony OS in the future. I prefer freedom over limited application.

    • I think the Pixel watch is out next month, likely to be announced alongside the Pixel 7 range. Also have you seen the bezel on that thing? It really makes the design look outdated. I'd rather get this by a long shot.

      • Yea not really into Pixel watch but just want WearOS 3.5 more available to other smartwatch as it will improve battery life a lot.

    • +1

As much as I like the Pixel line, I have serious doubts that Google will get it right as a 1st gen product. All the leaks so far don't point to a compelling product (Huge thick bezels, single 40mm size, 1day battery life, dated processor etc)

Chances are the next wave of Wear OS 3 watches running Qualcomm's new W5 chips will really drive competition.

  • Does anyone know if I can trade in Samsung watch 4?

    • You sould be able to.

    • What colour? You in melb?

      • Black and unfortunately I am not.

    • At least for normal Retail yuo could at launch, though they only offered a paltry $160 off for my mint condition, never been wet, lives under a full cover Watch 4 LTE

Samsung just soak Aussies, everywhere else on the planet via watch/wearos reddit groups i was watching people trade in for ridiculous amounts, while Aussie sat there and copped it, same as always, treated like some sort of backwater here….

I decided to keep my Watch 4, the stupid trade in off meant i would still be paying way too much for not much improvement

  • My Active 2 LTE is crapping out literally a few months out of warranty. I like the product but don't want to get stung again.

  • Nah give it another 4 weeks for Samsung to sweat it out and drop price more.

  • I believe $50 newsletter is only applied to normal samsung store. i might be wrong.

    • I used it and the order went through fine

  • Can this be done with the 5 non pro versions too or just the 5 Pro ?

  • I'm reluctant to spend big money for limited devices that will be replaced in few years & another recharging slavery.
I'm waiting for good price on Amazfit band 7. My phone is Galaxy Note (as I prefer S-pen), but I like the long batt life of Mi Band/Amazfit (current 5 but the % batt display is too small & not showing when charging).
