NBA League Pass for Australia 1-Year: $154.99 Standard, $209.99 Premium

291

So everyone into NBA probably knows you can get league pass for around half this price with a VPN. I used Brazil last season for around $100AUD for premium (which lets you watch on 2 devices at same time plus get a full play by play replay of each game that condenses down to about 30 mins).

But for those that don't want to use a VPN to signup for whatever reason, the league pass pricing in Australia has significantly reduced (off memory used to be like $400+). At this price, I'd have no issues paying Aus pricing if for whatever reason the VPN method stopped working.

UPDATE: those using VPN last season (myself included) I'm unsure if it will work upcoming season with the new apps. When I sign in it doesn't recognise my subscription (on android phone and amazone fire tv). However not sure if that's just because my subscription hasn't renewed yet or what. Don't think I've had that issue prior years though before season started

  • Well I'm glad the Turkey option worked (existing account with SA/Paypal sub last season that didn't renew; NordVPN and Australia ING Direct card), because it's a bit of a shitshow again this season (I swear we get one good LP season, followed by one terrible one, then back to good again etc…).

Have had all the issues mentioned about not being able to see replays of the day prior, I've had a day when it just wouldn't work at all (live or replay), and because of the way I watch (via browser on a mini PC plugged into my TV), I can't watch full screen without seeing all the Play/Pause/Skip Ahead/Skip Back etc interface constantly, because while a mouse cursor is on the screen that never goes away (and without a second monitor I can't move the mouse off screen when full screen).

Anyone got a solution to that problem that doesn't involve buying new hardware? TV is an LG BX and I have a Samsung S8 if there's a way to cast.

EDIT: Just a note to say I couldn't watch from Turkey via the VPN, had to turn it off and watch in Australia

Probably not what you want to hear but if you can get an Amazon Fire tv lite for $30 on sale, it's the cheapest way that's reliable. Or if you want the 4k max version, that sometimes comes down to around $60 on sale. My experience with nba app on fire tv is really good (much better than chromecast).

      • Someone at the NBA must be monitoring this thread, because they've fixed the problem today!

        • Scratch that, it's just that it disappears on live games, but still not replays

I had issues like this as well. some games don’t work when watching live on pc but if I use the mobile app it is working. i’m a subscriber for the last 6 years and never had any issues like this. nba league pass this year is a mess.

it's a shit show. Some games will loop you or show blank screen on desktop but work on PC and vice versa.

just signed up via VPN through Turkey for league pass premium. roughly $36 AUD. They give u a 7 day free trial initially then charge you the full amount later. I entered by 28 Degrees card and didn't have any issues. Watching on my TV through the Google TV with chromecast and so far no issue but not sure if its cos im still on a trial.

    • how'd you go after the free trial?
