  i have the XC2 with DLCs (early days where they have yet to release all of the stuff in that season pass), is this a separate game or an addon to the XC2?

    IT's a full separate game.

    ITs more a prequel.

    You don't need XBC2 to play this.

    if you bought the expansion pass, you would already have all of this digitally. This is just a standalone release for the DLC story expansion.

        It's an additional prequel story to the base game that comes included with the base game's expansion pass, but it can be bought as a physical standalone as well.

        The expansion pass includes a series of DLCs as well as a 20 hour additional story. Monolith decided to release the expansion pass physically as well. This is the 20 hour story on a separate cart with a code for the expansion pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
