Subway Hotdog (Subdog) - Anyone Tried?

Hi guys,

Has anyone tried the subway hot dog? What are the thoughts between this and a proper hot dog or even an ikea $1 dog or costco?

https://www.subway.com/en-AU/MenuNutrition/Menu/Product?Prod…

My manager said there are pros and cons for both but didn't say lol - I am going to try one today and let everyone know what I think.

edit: Not worth the money, disappointed with the pencil thin sausage - go to ikea or elsewhere.

    • I didn't want to spoil the surprise so I didn't watch this before. (I wish I had)

The hot dog looks thicker than what I had, maybe they took all water out of my pencil thin sausage.

Pacing, drama, dialogue and a bit of violence, it's just all there.

  • Aren’t ikea hotdogs $1.50 now?

  • Have seen them sitting in the tray at my local Subway and they look horrible.

Not sure on pricing, but they are not going to be anywhere near $2 with a drink. I would go Costco every day of the week (and wish I could).

  • so whats the asking price for this?

if im going to go out of my way to go to a subway its pretty hard to pass up the classic of Italian BMT on italian herb toasted w/ sth west chipolte sauce

    $9 for footlong subdog

The actual sausage are these little pencil thin pieces of meat, and then other than that its the bread and toppings.

The flavor, well it tastes like normal meat in some bread.

I was really disappointed by the pencil thin sausage even the ikea hot dogs are thicker and only cost $1/$1.50

Sorry guys verdict is don't waste your money.

WTF? This is another example of Subway overcharging. The Hotdogs at Stadium Australia are still cheaper.

Who in their right mind would pay 9 bux for any hotdog?

      • lol I did, but really its 2 x hotdogs for the footlong. Apparently $5.50 for 6inch.

    • So worser than costco hotdog?

Costco hotdog is tasty though and great price

        • so the answer is yes, worse than costco dog

Hot dog is not a hotdog once you add lettuce, tomato etc.

    • I only added onions and cheese.

all that for $9 ? feeling rich?

    • Hmmm. Maybe hotdog roll? Or sausage roll?

  • I really hope they don't slather the bread in sauce like the photo.

I can't find store pricing but on Ubereats it's $6.95 when the BLT is $8.25, so it's going to be at least $3-4 in store.

I don't hold much hope if that's the best photo they could come up with.

Given Subways crazy high pricing for everything, this wont end well.

      Yes, but isn't everything 'Fresh!

      • The MRM would be as fresh as MRM can get.

I hadn't had a sub for ages but decided to grab one before work the other day. $12.25 for a footlong Italian BMT without any extras. I won't be back any time soon.

disappointed with the pencil thin sausage

    That's what she said.

When I walked past my local a few weeks ago and saw this advertised in the window, my first thought was… what a way for Subway to destroy their brand through brand extension!

    Is it real dog?

    What’s sub, dog?

Not worth it! It limits the salad choices, which is what makes Subway, Subway.

  • It's just barely worth $9 if you take the whole bucket of olives with you, too.

tried it, basically a boiled hotdog with regular selection of salads

would not get again. and yes they were std size dogs, i was just chewing bread half the time

you'd think they'd include some promotional toppings like pickled relish or sangastuff
