Seems to be a good price but the regular price of $99.95 is questionable.

    • +18

not really… $99.95 is a very common RRP for games in Australia… if you're dumb enough to ever pay that amount is another thing entirely.

      • +1

If its new yeah, this is like 3 years old

    • +1

Base game is free with plus. I guess this is a cheap way to get the DLC.

Frankly I found it unplayable. At 30FPS even on a PS5 with all those tight corners, it was making me sick.

  • Great GAME!!! thank you

  • +1

    Purchased, thanks!

  • +2

It seems also in a bundle with NFS Most Wanted Remastered and can be bought for another 10% off ($4.50) if you already own NFS MW Remastered on Steam.

    • Whereabouts? I don't see this bundle on Steam.

        • That shows NFS Heat and NFS Hot Pursuit, not Most Wanted.

          • @swanny246: you have a point, the only bundle I can readily find is the EA Racing Pack, that contains NFS Most Wanted

edit: I initially misread xmagic's comment as saying 'NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered', hence I looked that up, and that game is in the Need for Speed™ Collection bundle I replied earlier.

          • +1

@swanny246: got it wrong. Should be Hot Pursuit Remastered. MW never got "remastered" from EA.

  • A bit of an underrated gem, I enjoyed it.

The RRP is taking the piss though. If you wanted to play through it you'd be much better off subbing to Game Pass for a month.

  • +1

Does this keep your CPU pegged at 100% due to DRM?

    • +2

      What's the story here?

  • +1

Can I use the Logitech G920 Driving Force Wheel ?

    • +1

      Would like to know too

    • +1

I honestly don't think you'd want to use a wheel over a controller.

    • You can but not as simple as plug and play. I had to YT it when I bought the game back then.

  • This along with other NFS games are on Game Pass if you have that

  • Idk how many it will affect but the because I already owned F1 2021 the bundle that included NFS Heat and that game is only $4.50. Nice!

  • This game didn't blow me away, but at this price it's definitely worth having a go. I think it's best not to play this expecting it to be like the older NFS games.

    • Funny, my impression when playing it is that it is a spiritual successor to Hot Pursuit, with some of the drifting from later titles.

  • Bought a new PC. Get this or Forza?

    • +2

If you only get one, I think Forza is going to keep you entertained longer.

      • Thanks, any recent deals on Forza?

        • +1

Unfortunately I think you missed out on the most recently concluded discounted deals for Forza 4 (in June?) / Forza 5 (early September) … they're all back to full price I believe.

          • @slipkord: All good I'll wait for the next deal thanks!

    • +4

Different strokes for different folks. It's hard to compare. Forza will have much more content and you'll spend much more time in its beautiful world and many acitivities.

NFS:Heat is a fast paced arcade game that has a lot of fun moments to it, but can get very repetitive very fast if it's not your style. However for $5 you should get at least that many hours out of it.

      • Thanks, was thinking if I should outlay for a steering wheel combo too with my new PC. Do you know anything good value for a newbie to driving games? Cheers.

        • +1

Bro, I'm sorry that you weren't asking earlier in the week. This deal was incredible. I would look out for this rig or the Thrustmaster equivalent on special - or keep an eye out on secondhand of the same. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727044

          • +2

@ColPow11: Ah darn, well thanks at least I know the pricepoint for the next deal :/

            • +2

@xdigger: The Logitech G920 is king when it comes to entry point into steering wheels. And it goes on sale frequently to the $299 pricepoint at JB HIFI and EB Games. I run an older version of the G920 and have been using it for about 8 years now, so they last.

Thrustmaster is usually the next step and Direct Drives are the platinum route.

              • @Dswal: Upvoted for the recommendations!

    • +2

honestly far prefer forza over nfs games cause of the large free-roaming open world and hundreds of cars to choose from. But its not exactly cheap even for older horizon games. If you dont care about MP and only want to play SP, there are alternate ways of sourcing the game

      • Haha okay thanks mate for the tip

    • Forza or Forza Horizon, they are also different.

Not the same tho. This has cops chasing you.

    • I've played both, I've put many more hours into this game. The storyline and voice acting can get a bit cringe at times, but the amount of car customisation alone will keep you busy for hours (still nowhere as good as NFSU/2 though)

    • I've played through this and Forza Horizon 5, and love them both for different reasons. I like the story and more mission-based structure of NFS Heat, but Horizon looks beautiful, is more chilled and has a lot to do.

  • Is it possible to buy it with Google Play?, so that I can get the $10 promo from PayPal.

  • +3

BTW this is already part of Xbox Gamepass for free.

  • +3

FYI - NFS heat was recently free with Prime gaming, don't think Deluxe edition but still…

    • I completely forgot to claim it on prime day, wonder should I buy it now.

    • +1

Was considering buying this on Steam… saved me $5!

    • +1

Thanks for the reminder! Saved me $5 :D

      • Hahah exactly same here

    • Any chance they will do it again or with Epic?

  • +1

Thankyou Slipkord, I grabbed it 👍🙂

  • CN version has a much cheaper price, around A$3

    • What's CN?

    • Turkey shop is even cheaper, less than $2

  • I bought this edition for $30 around a year ago, can say it was definitely worth the money at that price let alone this price. GET IT!

  • It's often on sale $20-30, $100 lol

  • +1

I just realised that the game is actually Free To Play for the next 3 days.
If you're interested you might as well download it and try it before you buy, but honestly if you're keen you could smash out the whole story over the weekend and be done with it.

    • Thanks for giving the heads up about that, that Free to Play Weekend thing was not there when I glanced at the Steam store listing yesterday so I wasn't aware they were going to do that until reading your comment just now.

    • Downloaded to try

      • Couldn't start the game, kept freezing up my computer.

  • If anyone was hankering for Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered, it is currently on sale, A$3.99 at EA's Origin store (-90% off, was A$39.95). I checked the Steam store version, but it is at full price.
