Purchased last deal and been happy with the quality of the parts. Found extending magnetic tool for reaching screws very useful

    • The magnetic tool is awesome! I used it to find all the gyprock screws hidden behind plaster. I also use to to retrieve all the dropped screws hidden in the pile of crap i swept up after finishing up.

  • Thanks op. Ordered 2.

Can these be used with Ryobi drill set?

    • +2

      yes

      • -1

Unless it's a drill driver or Rotary Hammer.

        • Why wouldn't the driver work?

          • @hoxygt: Round drill bits fit into drill chuck. Hex bits fit into quick release driver chuck. You can get bit adapters but they either suck, I lose them, or I haven't tried a good one.
OR - theyre not rated for impact/hammer use

            • @JoeSchmogan: Ah - appears some of these are Hex but perhaps are not rated for impact!

        • +1

A drill driver is exactly what you'd use these in…

You wouldn't use these in an impact driver.

For drill bits made in China, this is probs what the price should be. Apparently actually matters with drill bit durability.

    • +1

So Apple products are made in China.. what kind of disability issue did you face with those?

        • -1

The only correlation is just by price, not by origin. All Japanese or German built stuff isn't the same quality. You get what you pay for. Imho we better not expect quality at a bargain. It's either quality or bargain. Would certainly love to see quality in bargain items, but the truth is a little costlier.

          • -1

@vikaskamboj: Ok, sweet. Stick with it then.

          • +1

@vikaskamboj: This is true but there are good prices for quality and there are not so good prices for quality.

I love that OzBargain caters for all spectrums of buyer, the best prices on top quality (sub $400 on pairs of RM Williams boots) and the best prices on crappier stuff, $9 for a 10,000 lumen torch!

            • +1

@hoxygt: For sure. Only point was that steel quality varies by country, not just by price. I'm no metallurgist, so I don't know ins and outs of why. Agree with your point, absolutely.

  • Does it work with ozito or is it universal?

    • +1

      F

    • +2

      Yep, universal

      • Thanks!

The rubber sticks are a pain. I took the bits out and threw away the case.

    • +1

I just take bits out of these sorts of kits of and put them into the "cheapie" Workzone or Craftright drill bit cases as the bits gets used. Bit of a shame cos I originally bought this thinking the case would be a good one-stop-storage but yeah, PITA rubber holders instead of like swivelling plastic slots.

  • +2

The quality of these I'd very acceptable for the price. Haha per comment above yes some of the rubber holders are a pain!

    • Literally :-) Should have a pack of bandaids. The drill bits are bloody sharp.

  • Can I use this just as a screw driver until I got the drill?

    • 1x hand screwdriver ratchet function clockwise/counterclockwise

As per Kababs comment just below.

  • The screwdriver is a ratcheting one, be careful though as is quite easy to break the mechanism when switching

  • Do they work with Milwaukee impact drill?

    • The sockets and bits are not impact, so may break if you are hitting them hard in impact mode. Otherwise, yes.

  • +1

Picked one up thanks, beats paying 8$ per drill bit in bunnings that snap after a day of usage too.

Amazon is taking over unfortunately, I used to prefer eBay but it's been hit and miss for years now with delivery, it either takes a week, weeks, lost by Australia Post or you get tracking information and it's coming from China. Anything from Amazon is usually two days, free postage with prime too..

  • +2

Just jumped up to $36.40 when I tried to add to cart…

    • +1

      Same here :(

    • OOS, different seller.

  • Thanks, bought.

  • Bugger, well that went up in price quick..

  • I got one of these from the prime day sales last year, never got round to using it.

  • Not great. Need gold or diamond tips like snap on ones

  • +2

Is this 70 piece set for similar price comparable?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Bosch-Piece-Titanium-Drill-Screwdr…

    Edit -21 pieces less.

    • +1

Country of Origin = Germany. Tests online indicate that any brand made in Germany has better quality metal (followed by USA). Unpopular opinion on a bargain site, apparently. Having drilled through some thick and unforgiving material, I'd get less pieces, that are more strong, every time.

  • +1

does anyone know if the clear window easily falls out?
I had a similar case where the clear window never stayed in place and annoyed the crap out of me when all the bits fell out of the case when dropped.

    • Hot glue or silicone. Failing that, no-nails or duct tape.

  • Seems to be available again, just got one.

  • Available again
