BBQ for outdoor near the beach

Hey OzBargain Crew.

So I’m keen to buy a BBQ and have a budget around $500-1500 but the big concern I have is that I live close to the beach and worried around it rusting.

Is this something that will just happen or should I be looking for a BBQ that has some type of build that will stop this from happening.

Keen to get some feedback.

BBQ for our doors near the beach

Can you post a pic of your doors so we can give you are recommendation.

The BBQ design is a 430 grade stainless steel BBQ. The stainless steel BBQ and hood are great value with an expected body life of 10 years but is not recommended for coastal conditions.

      Umm…

      • This is my problem. They always rust.

    lucky doors

    • Hahah. I only just noticed what spell check created.

  • Weber q, pick the size that suits your uses.

    • Thanks. Will check them out. I have been told Weber from friends but wanted to see what other options are worth checking out.

  • If you wish you could experiment with a cheap charcoal BBQ. Leave all the fat from cooking on it. It will last a long time. If it rusts cheaper to replace. I have bought big bbqs and realised the cheap charcoal cooks the best tasting food.

    Uber eats. Doesn't rust.

    • I already have a wife that doesn’t rust. I’m looking for a BBQ.

  • You can put a cover on it when not in use. That will mitigate a lot of the salt settling on it. Also wiping it down with fresh water and drying it off.

    • I’ve tried that over the last few year and doesn’t help. I get about 2 years max from the BBQ.

      • Nice. Time to make one out of bricks

  • How close is close?

    • I can hear the waves at night. I’m talking about 50-100m max.

These doors? They conveniently come with a self-start ignition.

      Great band, great song!

    • Great track! I love this song.

  • What did the knowledgeable folks at BBQs Galore say when you asked them?

"Would you like fries with that?"

    • They gave no good advice. In saying that I could ask 10 of the staff and they will give all random advice.

I’m just hoping anyone that lives near the beach has some ideas.

You appear to live in a sand castle on the beach. Perhaps best to access those public BBQ areas due to your close proximity & save some $.
