Is this another sukin sister company? I've seen so many brands now on the market having these identical bottles with almost identical labels, pastel colours etc.

    • +3

I guess a copy. It’s a target in house brand.

  • How much normally cost?

      • Woohoo! It's da BOMB!

FAKE as F. But as long as it's not killing you immediately and no pain i guess it's alright, can pass, as everything else.

Thanks for sharing the ingredients. Shame about the isothiazolinone, I'll be giving this one a miss. Wouldn't recommend for anyone with sensitive skin (eczema, dermatitis etc).

        • Surely it can't be that bad, right? … 'googles it' … okay, it's pretty ****ing bad!

          • @Noob Noob: Doesn’t look particularly ‘bad’ from the source you’re citing. It says there’s limited data and what data there is shows there’s ‘low risk’ of cancer or neurotoxicity and ‘high risk’ of irritation. To me that would mean of it irritates your skin don’t use it. ‘Low risk’ is the lowest risk available on the scale they are using. So as twjr says probably not one for those who tend to have sensitive skin. TBH with the various oils fragrance etc in there I’d avoid for sensitive skin anyway. Even Aloe Vera (included) can be quite irritating for many.

          • +1

@Noob Noob: The US FDA risk assessment concludes it as a moderate to high toxic chemical but the risk in residential exposures is low.

  • What’s the normal price? Otherwise how do we know if it’s a deal? :)

    • +1

There’s not many body washes that you can by as cheap as $2 for 750ml. In one of the reviews for one of the products (can’t remember which) it said good value for $6.

      • dont we just use drip-down shampoo as bodywash?

        • Do the switch-a-roo? This is probably cheaper than most shampoos.

  • Thanks, 5 of each for the 5 females i need to buy Christmas gifts for.

lol, I hope you didn’t test it in store. Maybe try a different browser. Still working for me.

  • no stock anywhere in Syd :(

  • Anyone know if you can stack gift card with CR?

  • sandalwood kiinda exxy apparently

    what does wattle smell like?

my local Target closed i'd have to go over a few suburbs

    • Mildly floral - like wattle. I’m quite fussy about strong smells and it passed my sniff test.

  • Do these "botanical" hand wash actually removes germs? Some bottles like dettol would tell you on the label it removes 99.9% of germs, but not normally found on these botanical hand wash brands

    • +6

Yeah, the surfactant part does in this case ‘Cocamidopropyl Betaine’. The most common one in hand wash is ‘sodium lauryl sulphate’ it removes the dirt and ‘germs’ etc by carrying them away with the water.

The rest of the ingredients in hand washes are things to give the gel consistency, balance the ph, moisturise the skin, add fragrance. In this case they’ve added random botanicals that probably do nothing, just marketing.

Some brands have antimicrobials like triclosan, benzalkonium chloride or chlorhexidine which aims to actually kill bacteria or fungus as well. The antimicrobials aren’t generally considered necessary for normal hand washing at home and are probably not great in terms of increasing antimicrobial resistance. Hand washing works by the principal of removing the pathogens (germs) whereas a hand sanitiser aims to kill them, as such the antimicrobials aren’t really necessary in hand wash. Some counties have banned certain antimicrobials in general consumer products to assist with this antibiotic resistance issue.
