    LOL

    Save $0.50
receive a regular coffee for only $1.50

It is literally a 50% price increase from the $1 price last week.

How is that a saving ??

    • +3

Because from today the regular coffee price is $2

      • -3

Which is a price increase, not a bargain…

        • +5

So at the new price, you can save $0.50 by scanning your loyalty card in-store, which qualifies as a bargain.

          • -4

            @HamBoi69:

So at the new price, you can save $0.50

Nope, I have to pay more than the previous price.

When prices go up, they are not savings…

            • +4

@jv: The price going up is out of my control though.

              • @HamBoi69: You are still posting a price increase, not a bargain…

I'll stick to $1 coffee at Coles Express. It tastes better anyway…

                • @jv: I heard that Maccas, 7/11 and Coles Express use the same company for beans. Except the quality in beans has Maccas up top, Coles in the middle and 7/11 at the bottom.

Also why are 7/11 machines so slow?

                  • @Clear: One of their machines in queen st has a sign on it saying no long blacks.. weird. Maybe they'll be able to afford to fix it soon with the extra revenue.

                • @jv: Just fyi you can use flybuys fuel dockets on the app for free small coffee instead of 4c/L saving.

so if you don't fuel up there can even get free coffee with the otherwise wasted docket

                  • @Chocobros: Can't stack though if you are buying petrol.

Will need to do it as 2 separate transactions.

                • @jv: That's a trap, and ozbargain fell for it… That's disappointing.
Discount on increased RRP is not a deal

                • @jv: They are all pretty average but alright for a dollar. Wouldn't pay any more for that crap.

Good forum to whinge on anyway albeit lack of a bargain.

They'll keep raising the price if people keep paying it (in terms of normal coffee prices etc)

    • I have to agree

  • +2

Milk & bread combo is up from $5.50 to 6.50 today onwards

    • -1

Milk & bread combo is up

Are you going to post it as a bargain too?

  • I heard from the staff you take your own cup the small coffee will be $1 instead of $1.50.

    Not hard to do it.

    • Deal is here

A lot easier to just go to Coles Express though unless you have a 7/11 in walking distance.

      • That's the one, I heard about it ages ago but good it's confirmed.

Won't be buying hot foods again, (eg pastie went up 50c, bad value now all that crap).

        • +4

7/11 is now such an overpriced convenience store. Everything in there has gone up. They can blame "inflationary pressures" etc all they like, but others have managed.

          • +1

@pennypincher98: Yeah stuff them just won't buy that over priced crap anymore, even their sandwiches have gone up heaps in price in the last year.

7-elevens in Thailand and Japan rock ..

PS. Fair enough keeping the coffee to a Round number $1, but it means the increase will be 50-100% more instead of making it $1.20 or something.

Should take own cup anyway for the cheaper price if you work/live near one and cut down on waste.

          • +2

@pennypincher98: 7/11 Australia is garbage. App deals/freebies used to entice me, and $1 coffee wasn't too bad, but now I will not buy anything in there. They should look at the Japan stores for inspiration. Low prices and quality food/beverage.

The coffee isn't worth any more than $1 that's for sure. Now i'll just make my own at home and carry it around in the Zojirushi.

      • I don't have coles express or 7/11!

      • easier unless you aren't near a Coles express Servo but good to know. Don't think I've seen the coffee makers in the Coles supermarkets (maybe the new one in BNE CBD)?

        • If you're talking about Coles Local (supermarket) the coffee in there is decent but it's like $3. If you're talking about Coles Express (their smaller stores, terribly named) I haven't seen coffee machines in there.

    • Discount did not apply to my keep cup coffee today. Staff said $0.50 discount only applies to paper cups only!

      • Doesn't sound right. Who the hell would carry around a spare paper cup.

        • The staff meant the extra $0.50 discount via 7-11 app only applies to coffees in their paper cups instore. The cost of coffees in reusable cups are already $0.50 reduced. Hence, the cost of getting a regular coffee with their paper cup in store is the same as a regular coffee with your reusable cup.

          • @cheapp: Ah good, 50c off with reusable cup alright at least and saves some waste..

  • +3

7-11 are playing with fire by raising the prices of coffee i think. The amount of people I see buying their $1 coffee then stocking up on over priced food is significant, most people will just go to other servos. A bad move.

  • +1

hey i used to drink 7 eleven coffee everyday…with this price increase I decided to drink every alternate day…now with this i will drink every alternate day and save 0.25 c every 2 days! Bargain for sure for me!!

    • Lol you lost me. Maybe I need a (7/11) coffee ?

  • +4

    Cheaper at Coles Express.

  • It’s ‘still just a single gold coin price’ lol

    https://www.7eleven.com.au/get-to-know-us/stories/news/7-Ele…

    • wow, that's quite the spin

    • ‘still just a single gold coin price’

Reminds me of primary school when the grade 6ers used to try tricking the kindies/preppers into swapping multiple silver coins (20c/10c/5c) for one ‘gold’ coin (1c or 2c) - “everyone knows that gold is worth more than silver”.

Perhaps one of them grew up and got a job in the 7-11 marketing department?

      • Be interested to know when their last price increase was (if there has even been one)?

A dollar is probably worth two due to inflation..

    • By comparison, it’s not uncommon to see a regular coffee cost between $4.50-$5.50.

I love how they're comparing themselves to a cafe with barista made coffee.

      They should've said

By comparison, Coles Express and Ampol are still $1.

      • The last ampol I went to had increased their prices with a small costing $1.5 and that was back in May.

        • Last time I went to Ampol it was still $1 and it's still on their website as that, wonder if they've only put up their prices in certain stores..

  • $1!!!
Received Free coffee or Slurpee offer in Rewards tab - for 7th visit (grabbing fuel before excise rise).

Just had another Free white choc mocha from Soul Origin. Have Free Coffee Club coffees after that.

    • Yeah every 7th visit subsidises it.
Had a free coffee in the flybuys app for Coles, didn't end up using it (not near many Coles servos)

  • Weren't these coffees always intended to be loss leaders? The number of people in my local 7-Eleven was noticeably less than normal this morning.

  • can we redeem multiple offers same time, or has to be separate transacts??
