Flexible Savings Account with Bucketloads of Interest

Yeah as the title says, I have topped up my offset account and am looking to put further savings in a new account.

I have a few day-to-day accounts with CBA and a Savings account there as well, but they pay a ridiculously low 0.85% interest on that.

Basically, given the current inflation I need an account I can access 24/7 where I can drop my salary in plus anything left over, with the best interest I can get these days. Terms deposits, investments, etc don't give me the flexibility. Initially it would start with a few 1000, growing up to maybe 50k in the next 2 years.

What would be my best option?

  • ING 3.6% at the moment
BOQ has 4% but I haven't used that bank

ING is not great, needs so many conditions; growth every month, at least 5 transactions, etc… I mean, 5 credit card transactions per month on a savings account???

not on savings account, those conditions are for the everyday account debit card, there is no card for the savings account

      • yes it is a ball ache spending 1 min a month buying 5 bananas

        • Do 5 partial payments at the self service checkout

          • @Matta955: Yeh until ing cancel you, but that’s what I do most months

  • Depends on age. Betting OP is less than 34. BOQ account simple to open, osko, just have a few juggling requirements: main transfer into account plus 5 card charges. Bet it to be 4.5% soon with the RBA rate up. Otherwise ubank is fantastic and soon @3.6%.

Thanks, ubank sounds like a good option then

  • Ubank has been really good, great little phone app too - best I've ever used for bank/savings.

    • The new or old UBank app?
