    Hi all. Obble is yet to implement any price increases since starting our business in 2018. We have experienced multiple price increases over the last few years, specifically with cPanel licensing costs which have all been absorbed by us. Additionally our server provider, OVH, has announced a price increase of approx 5-10% coming into effect this month I believe.

    This is another cost we are hoping to absorb to keep ourselves affordable, and remain competitive as one of the best smaller providers there is (Subjective, perhaps ;)). If our supplier & licensing costs continue to rise over the next few years (or hopefully not, months) then we may also have to slightly increase our pricing in line with this.

    However we're aware many other providers have had price increases, this is something we will opt for only as a last resort and any price increases are still NOT an option at this stage. If we were to have a price increase into the future, this would be well announced allowing any customers new & old to migrate away if they deem it too expensive.

    I should add though, our pricing would only increase in line with our costs so 5-10% also. At this stage, we're fine without a price rise. Feel free to ask any questions you may have here. Thanks as usual for the support & have a great evening everyone.

    Interested in mail hosting services more than web.

    Any restrictions for the plans being offered? Wanting to create accounts for users to connect to using IMAP.

      Hi,

      No restrictions out of the ordinary for a host. We have typical rate sending limits, of 100/hour. These can be increased for legitimate usage though at no cost.

      You can certainly connect via IMAP, no limit to the number of email accounts too.

            Default I believe 1GB. But you are totally entitled to the full disk usage of the plan (5GB starter, higher for higher plans).

            So just send a message and will increase the mailbox size for you.

        Do you use outbound mail relay services (e.g. SpamExperts, Mailchannels)? If not what do you think about deliverability and any issues with OVH IP ranges given they often end up on spam block lists? Your prices are excellent and relays are expensive but I'd be keen to know if paying for a service

          Hi, totally reasonable concerns. At this stage we don’t use any mail relay services - as you mentioned cost is a factor, in combination with demand for these.

          It would certainly be something we implement if we ever offer a more dedicated email hosting service. We try at the moment to offer a hosting plan that satisfies the most customers to a high standard rather than more niche I suppose (and as such keep the pricing lower, and still profitable).

          Early days we did have issues with IP blocks more so than now simply due to less experience in the industry. We now have not had any individual IP blocks for quite some time (none to my knowledge within the last 1-2 years at all).

          However you’re correct that with OVH we do rarely have issues with the wide range blocks such as UCEPROTECTL2/3. These occasionally cause some deliverability issues I won’t lie, without a relayer these are unavoidable unfortunately.

          We’ve had 1 or 2 incidents this year with the entire range being blocked (which unfortunately included some of our IPs).

          We always try to be transparent with customers when this happens and extend the service as a small compensation.

          This is unfortunately always going to be a small risk until we have a dedicated email hosting offering. It may be one of our next releases (we started with HDD, then SSD, then VPS, then managed WP. With plans to release a public web design service plus email hosting and potentially more server locations including internationally).

      Hi there,

      I haven't heard of these guys so can't be certain regarding speed. Having a very quick look at their site I can't see a mention of SSD nor the server specs.

      If they are using HDD, then you'll certainly notice a speed increase after migration. If they are using SSD, then it really depends on the plan specs, the type of SSD disk and the server.

      We run NVME SSD drives with LiteSpeed webserver, which we find even faster than a regular apache server. So far we've had positive feedback about speeds, plus the premium plan has generous CPU & RAM allocations too which may assist.

      You can upgrade or downgrade any time and maintain the 50% discount. The starter SSD is $34.75 and intermediate $74.75 after discount (annually)

      Essentially that last sentence means that the discount is valid for as long as you’re hosting with us and have an active plan. It will be maintained for all upgrades & downgrades.
