350-400 max. Why would anyone get this over the a53/a52s

    • Agree.. just need an A53 deal now

      • is A53 with 8GB ram?

  • is Snapdragon 695 better than 765G?

695 CPU frequency is lower than 765G,but antutu score is higher?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/728591

    • 695 is about 10% faster in both single and multicore testing across whatever CPU benchmarks.

I think the 765 is slightly better for 3D/gaming though.

This is making me very glad that I jumped on the JB Motorola Edge 30 deal last week.Moto seems like better value? Unless the few Pro's of the Reno8 are of great importance to you.
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727895

    • That was an excellent deal

    • See how Motorola treats you with your software !

      • You're 100% right, that's definitely a concern for me, albeit minor.

Having said that, it's already running Android 12 and 13 has been confirmed.

Whereas Oppo Reno 8 Lite will get Android 12 (ColorOS 13) next year some time and no guarantees it will get Android 13 from what I've seen?

        https://image.oppo.com/content/dam/oppo/au/mkt/newsroom/pres…

        • it's more so how frequent / fast the security updates rolling out , if it ever bother to release them at all

    • Had a Moto for a few weeks and the software annoyed the hell out of me. At least they've seemingly gotten rid of the "Hallo Motto" voice when you start up.

      • you can switch it back on in setting

  • Why just pixel 6a for $559. Or Samsung 52s

    • +1

The A52S seems to be pretty hard to find and looks like it might be discontinued and stock will never come in.

The 6a is over $100 more, doesn't have a headphone jack and it seems like the Oppo's battery charge will last a good 20-40% longer depending on the type of usage.

That said I probably wouldn't buy the Oppo unless it was about $350.

  • 6a you can get around $549 base on recent deal. You got better proceesser tensor (sd870) vs 695. Most important is picture quality and system update until until android 15 or 16.
I was always OnePlus user until 7t. (Same company as oppo), the pixel take way better photos than OnePlus and Samsung in my opinion.
Or a53, the cheapest deal was around $490 this years.

This deal is for $439.20 after cashback. So $110 cheaper, I rounded down to make the argument better for you.

But apparently you didn't actually want to know the reasons people get this you just wanted to argue with someone. My bad, moving on.
