Seems pretty poor value compared to Dell's recent offering.

    • Wasn't the 34" Dell a VA panel, this is "nano IPS" - considered "better" by some, depending on use. I'd love to hold out for the dell to be sub $600 again but I might just have to jump on this one.

QHD monitors bigger than 27" are too grainy for non-gaming, and 60Hz means they are not for games

      I think you misread 160Hz

It seems that I missed something in the modern history of IPS, I always thought that IPS was incapable of high refresh rates and therefore we got VA ruling on the gaming monitor market. It's great that IPS can do it.

High refresh IPS monitors have been available for at least 8 years now, think you have some catching up to do!

    • Use a WQHD everyday for work.

      Grainy? Geesh.

  • really struggling to decide between the 34GN850 $979, 1900R curved IPS (mild curve)
    Or
    Samsung Odyssey G7 31.5" QHD 16x9 for $1049 . (not the G7 NEO which is $1799 and 4K)

Problem is I want to use for xbox (series x) and also for productivity, and the UWQHD LG seems to be better for the productivity, worse for xbox, while the 16:9 samsung might be better for xbox.

I recently tried the AOC AGOC CU34G3S ($799) VA panel and liked it except it could only d0 100hz on HDMI , could not get it to work with xbox 120hz 1440P. If the LG can ,it might be a winner, if it cannot then the true 1440P samsung can , and might be a better fit.

Making this decision has been sending me round in circles!

I also had the Samsung G8 31.5 Neo Odyssey but it had faulty pixels and at $2k was a little rich to be worth it. The 1440P version is good enough dot pitch (similar to a 24" 1080P) and would probably fit in well.
