          @MorriJ: Yes, cook99 was asking if they make a detect Outsize, but they don't.
          The outside model doesn't have the detect technology.

            What am I missing in terms of the "detect technology" that is missing?

              @MorriJ: Detect refers to the particle counting in the vac itself, not the laser in the head. The V15 does this (and maybe the V12?).

              TBH, I wouldn't worry about it. It's cool the first couple of times, but then you never look at it. I think it's used for auto power adjustment, but non-detect models can still change power when going from hardwood to carpets, which is good enough.

                @loksmack: Thanks! I have the detect version and have never looked at the back of the machine :). Figured the detect was just referring to the lazer thingy - thanks for clarifying! I'm a bit daft at times clearly :).

        Exactly that, I'm not sure why Dyson have made these 2 features mutually exclusive, I'd upgrade from my V11 if I could have both new features but alas

  You really aren't missing out if your vacuum doesn't have the detect stuff for a breakdown of the dust particles……it's just a gimmick.

  The LED light (laser) on the vacuum head is great though, particularly on hardwood floors as it shows up all the dirt / debris easily.
