Atl?

Maybe.

I was waiting for Black Friday sales but taking the chance on this upgrading from a v10 which will be kept as a spare/modified with a ryobi battery attachment or a spare battery for the v15.

45 day guarantee as well.

$710.84 after ShopBack cashback — Mention cashback saving in the deal description only. Cashback is not an immediate discount or a guaranteed saving. (Mod)

If you have an Amex with Dyson offer activated you get 6% back when you spend above $499.

    • +1

Dumb question but if I go through Shopback and pay with Amex does that count?

      • +1

Yes. Two separate things. The statement credit is different to shopback.

    • Thanks - would not have thought to check my Amex offers but an extra 6% is great! This was the thing that got me over the line in the end (this and the 45 day trial)…

      • Check them weekly. There are some great offers.

  • +5

So tempting to buy this… was hoping for the gen5detect to be close to this price

    • Black Friday is your friend

      • We may not see the gen5detect go less than $750, so tempted to pull the trigger on this

        • +1

Could have, even though the WashG1 is not very popular, a brand new one should be able to sell for $300 to $400 on marketplace. Bringing the Gen5Detech Complete from this deal to $700 mark.

          • @browser: True, the reviews of the WashG1 are so bad I didn’t even bother thinking about selling it

  • 10% TopCashback not eligible?

    • Doesnt look like the code is listed in TopCashback's site?

    • +1

Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashBack

    • @tightarse will this deal track with TCB?

    • +1

Took a gamble on the logic that most retailers would apply the same cashback eligibility to most cashback partners and bought it via TopCashback. Cashback would clearly be paid via ShopBack, so if it's declined I might even try my luck with a highest cashback claim haha. Worst case I lose the pretty small 2% cashback, not the end of the world.

      • +3

Update: cashback tracked with TopCashback (at the GST-exclusive sale price), so now just to wait and see if it is approved…

        • +1

good luck…it might be tracked but no cashback will be given.

happened to my Delonghi coffee machine purchase because I used a coupon code. That was via shopback though.

  • +3

If you have NAB 'goodies' cashback, currently 5% cashback when you spend at least $499 or more (could be targeted offer though). Check your NAB bank app.
i think i will pull the trigger with this deal. Thanks OP.

    • Cheers, that sealed the deal for me. Just bought my 1st Dyson

    • -1

Also stacks with 10% at TopCashback

      • @Gargz, how do you know this if the discount code isn't listed on TopCashback?

        • https://www.topcashback.com.au/dyson/ - says 10% cashback and the v15 SKU isn't listed as ineligible so figured it will work. I got one and it is being tracked in topcashback now.

          Cashback is ineligible on all Dyson accessories and on the following SKUs: 307169-01, 300677-01, 247896-01, 247897-01, 247901-01, 314696-01, 300678-01, 307170-01, 312115-01, 521871-01, 521913-01, 505145-01, 521874-01, 521919-01, 505146-01, 521903-01, 521929-01, 505163-01, 521912-01, 521950-01, 505204-01, 572594-01, 572593-01.

  • How is this vs gen 5. ? Live in a 2bdr apt. 3 people. Would v15 be good enough?

    • -1

V10 was good enough for carpet
V8 was good enough for hard floor

      So, yes.

      And stay away from v16.

      • +5

So many SKU's for something that just needs to pick shit up off the floor. Dyson really does show how marketing dollars equates to sales.

      • +1

What's the problem with the 16?
I'd been thinking about one of those….
Will stop such thinking if there are issues worth starting away from.

        • -1

You'll need to Google, all I know is it has issues

  • -5

I bought a plug in stick vac.
    $65.
10 x the suction of the cordless ones and never flat.

It’s a good option if having the cord doesn’t bother you.

    • +2

Maybe fact check your own statement, your $65 vacuum is not out performing this model.

    • +2

Never flat? Sounds like an amazing perpetual energy device you found for $65!

    • -1

Some real (profanity) responses today (not you) selectively ignoring what was written so they can inflate their own sense of self worth

  • +1

my dc59 is still going. i have a generic hard floor head from ebay and a 18v dewalt battery on an adaptor yes i have others as well

  • +1

Which Dyson’s models are better for vacuuming carpets?

  • +2

That's a decent price for a V15 but on the other hand that is still a hell of a lot of money to pay for a farkin vacuum cleaner

  • Very tempted.. but my V8 with retrofitted Ryobi batteries just refuses to die!

    • +1

If you have carpets and pets the v15 is a big upgrade.

Had the v8 for 8 years, got the v15 and on the first go pulled up so much more. Night and day difference

      • +1

Massive upgrade, I've gone from v7 to v10 and now upgrading to v15. Big jumps.

    • +1

      same here…my V8 is a Frankenstein..
it has a 3rd party head, rubber band around the dust bin, and Ryobi adaptor.

slap on a 8Ah battery and run turbo mode for 30+ mins!

having said that, I want to get an upgrade and keep v8 for garage job.

  • +2

Shopback has a 15% cashback deal for dyson tmw. Might be worth holding off purchase until then

    • would 00:01AM be considered as "tomorrow"?

15% sounds too good to be true tbh…maybe its 15% off the $849.

      • @akatsuki how do you know whether they haven't excluded this promo code?

        • +1

if the code is eligible for cash back they would have it listed on the page

    • +2

How do you find future cashbacks?

      • I have enough trouble trying to find excluded discount codes

      • +1

On the app - it has a calender on the main page. just scroll ahead and see upcoming deals

  • +1

have anyone bought via shopback and got their cashback tracked?

    • Re comments about batteries. Bought a V8 whose battery died after a respectable number of years then got an eBay clone battery for half the price of the real thing. Machine dead after a few years, no slow degredation died so suddenly I thought it must be a device fault. Took in to Dyson who of course berated me for the non-genuine battery, which I brushed off until it all worked perfectly with a new one. My bad.

Then it got INTERESTING. 22 months later suddenly died again so after checking the charger voltage etc I took back to Dyson this time sure it must be a machine fault. Fortunately they are nearby and again replaced battery then everything worked. 12 months battery warranty – whoopee. Even the Dyson guy said they normally last 4–5 years but that didn’t stop them charging me another $139 for the replacement - or $150 to leave it with them to investigate machine and likely still charge me for a new battery anyway.

Worth the hassle to argue if that’s reasonable? Nah though I will if it happens again. Moral – for all their hand waving about clones even some genuine Dyson batteries are rubbish.

  • Anyone got 15% cashback?

    • +1

It tracked my transaction, but will see how it goes if it actually processes.

      • +2

Thanks I got the 15% cashback.

I had also used the code DYSONWEEK725

        • +1

Hopefully it gets approved with the use of the code.. 🙏🏾

        • +2

Is it definitely confirmed though? The ShopBack website says promotional codes are excluded.

          • @johnstone: The T's & C's only exclude coupons beginning with UNI So can't see how that would exclude this.
$571.96 by my calc after Amex 6% and Shopback 15% cashback… Like OP I'm also upgrading from an iffy V10.
