as December is approaching soon we are looking to travel overseas I was wondering which place should we opt for that’s in budget :)
Most of the flight tickets are very expensive, even Japan is showing over $1200

lol, Skyscanner etc are a much better option.
Travel Agents are the biggest scammers.
They will make you see them by appointment only which the answers can be found online in seconds.

Should have booked a lot earlier than two months if you wanted to go overseas during peak season
Fiji either Nadi (NAN) or Suva (SUV) could be worth a look depending on the dates you have in mind.
Tip: Look for Non-Stop or Direct flights.

There are some cheap cruises still available for late Nov/early Dec or Jan but rooms may not be great (but still balcony)

The statement travelling on a budget is very subjective!
If ur wanting to go overseas for cheap in December, I think you’ve missed the boat already. I booked tickets to Bali for mid Jan in June and it was still quite expensive at just over $1k per person.
We have family members who are wanting to visit us in Australia from Asia last minute and tickets are either non existent or prices are just too ridiculous. I truly believe that cheap last minute overseas tickets are truly a thing of the past.
