  • I had no idea that a New York breakfast had anything to do with pancakes, but I’m going to roll with it because pancakes are delicious

  • +3

I didn't know Unilever owned T2, I thought it was an Aussie brand.

  • +2

Yet its still significantly cheaper if you have prime and buy it through S&S. E.g. $33 for 60pk melbourne & newyork breakfast compared to T2's listing of ~$41

Can anyone speak to the quality of these blends compared to pukka? I like licorice and chai based teas mostly. This is more than twice the cost for 20 bags. I can't imagine they would taste twice as nice…

    • -4

Maybe your imagination can be expanded by reality

      • +2

So yes? No? Not a very helpful comment. Are you saying you do find these much better than pukka, or are you just saying I should try and find out?

Wrong use of a neg though. Its like negging a deal for a Sony console because a Microsoft console is cheaper.

    • +3

So you have had less expensive tea that you enjoyed and haven't tried this one yet so are unsure about the value for money? Fair enough, but that's not really how negging works

      • What no, AssBargain advised cheaper through Amazon, nothing to do with not liking the brand. It's a dud deal… I actually bought a pack there to try

    • Wrong use of a neg, I too think.

I've been drinking licorice based teas for many years (decades) and cannot go past Red Seal Black Adder. Nothing even comes close, for me. 1-2 cups every day, even take with me when I go OS.

      The only thing I'll accept as maybe second place is;
Madame Flavour Licorice Tisane. This fills the gap if/when stock issues arise.

      Planet Organic: no
      Pukka: nope
      Higher Living: ok-ish
Organic India: nice, but no (like their Tulsi Sleep etc though)
      Vata Tea: definitely no

I've tried others that I can't remember the names of, probably almost tried everything in Australia and/or available online.

T2 is outside of my financial tolerance zone, for tea

  • Don't forget CashRewards 4.2% Off plus Tea Society 10% Off

  • Ah the great Australian blend, Melbourne Breakfast. Made in Germany, of course.

    • +2

      Melbourne taste, German precision

  • +2

    Tasteless teas, do not recommend.

    • +2

Helpful thanks, big asking price to find this out.

    • Really depends on the tea IMO, definitely the smell is stronger than the taste, but also depends how much you brew it with.
If you stick to the classics like Canberra Breakfast, Melbourne Breakfast you should be alright.

      • No thanks, i would rather buy a fresh tea for less

        • You do you boo, no need to downvote me

Can recommend the mexi-cola flavour which is on special. Also happens to be one of the few that is properly pregnancy friendly too.

    • Does it taste like cola?

      • Yes. Mostly. It smells exactly like cola (more than tastes I guess). It's a bit like a fruity off-brand cola taste.

If you enjoy your teas, try TWG. It's in a completely different league to stuff from T2.

  • Most of their tea is 'Flavoured'. does that mean they get tea leaves and enhance flavours by adding some artificial flavours?
