Its an iphone application…. and its below "RRP"… therefore by iphone customer logic, its a BARGAIN !

Should get at least 15 positive votes.

The only one who mentioned "RRP" is you. This app has been used and appreciated by thousands of people who were happy to pay the original price, I'd say a healthy ~66% off constitutes a 'bargain.'

But sure, keep raging against your made-up machine though.

this must be a good deal, as soon as it was posted, my house started shaking !!!

  • Supports POP now too.
Edit: Oops, already in the description. Silly me.

  • Why not use iOS native email client with IMAP?

  • +1

one of the best if not the best iphone app i ever found. much better than the native email client. I bought it when it was 2.99 and never regret :D

    • Sounds good. I'll give it a go!

      • Me too, i'm not a big fan of the standard one from Apple…

  • For those who want push notification, consider installing boxcar. It has a clever service where you forward your email to a private address at boxcar (which strips email body) and can then provide notification of email received. Works well.

    • Or just use gmail via Exchange for free and native shakes head

      Edit:
Maybe you were talking about Sparrow.

  • Why not use iOS native email client with IMAP?

Well, the native app wasn't built with Gmail in mind, and so is basically pretty poor for Gmail users.

Have a quick look at the review below for an idea about this beautiful app (the full review, linked in the description, is worth a read too):

The only problem so far is Sparrow does not support Push Notification, thanks to Apple restriction. Sparrow+ on Cydia (for jailbroken phone) is a good complement but it apparently does not support the newest version of Sparrow (v1.3)

My temporary solution is keeping the native Mail app just for 'push notification' only (Not interested in Boxcar solution).

  • This is one of the best email apps ever made,

I've replaced it my IOS native email app with sparrow mail, it really is that good!

    • This is one of the best email apps ever made

How do you get it to show all your mail folders? It's only showing my inbox ???

      • It's because hotmail uses POP mail by default. To use hotmail with IMAP (which is required to see your folders), you need to setup hotmail as an exchange account - which is not currently supported by sparrow unfortunately.

    • Swipe to the right, or click the icon on the top-left corner.

      • nope, it only shows inbox, starred, sent mail, drafts, trash and archive…

i have stacks of folders in Hotmail and my mail is directed there via rules… I can't see any of these folders… unless there is some way to see them, this app is useless to me…
        :(

it shows gmail ones, but not hotmail…

      • Sorry, I only use Gmail, which folders (labels) are fully displayed within. AFAIK, Sparrow was first developed for Gmail, others like Hotmail, Yahoo Mail was added as afterthoughts and so not all features are supported (yet).

  • Hmmm… So interface is great, easy to setup, but no IMAP support for hotmail (yes I still use hotmail. 16 years with one email address is a hard habit to break). No IMAP means no folders… so a no for me for the moment. Dissapointed, it does look nice.

On a side note, Instapaper, another great app, is also on sale ($5.99 -> $2.99). Not sure if this is a permanent,or just temporary drop, though.

    • and all "Sonic the Hedgehog" games are ($2.99 -> 99c)

  • Lack of PUSH means you have to set up your mail to refresh at predetermined intervals rather than have the server send the mail out as it arrives, correct? Is there anything else which PUSH enabled which you would miss if you switched from the native mail app to this? I'm happy with the native app using gmail as an exchange source so I don't really see a reason to change, what am I missing?

  • Great app!!
