electric heater? You might as well use an $8 K-mart toaster.

    • Or a really inefficient plasma TV. Mine starts to warms up the bedroom after an hour or 2. More interesting to watch than a silly heater :P

But yeah, those heaters are essentially just giant toasters inside.

Good price! But is it full HD?

    • Can it run Crysis?

      • +3

yeh , the chipset is based on the X79 architecture and supports ivy bridge apparently. Youll have more success warming up your room if you overclock the CPU to 7.8Ghz under air

        • An Ivy bridge at 1.5 vcore rated at 2000w drinks up 1333.33(repeating ofcourse) amps. Should toast things fairly quickly, and run 5 instances of cryisis.

  • Aren't halogen heaters more energy efficient?

    • +2

It depends on what you mean by "energy efficient". Perhaps a better word is "effective", because in some circumstances, like an outdoor setting, only radiant heaters (like halogen heaters) will be effective, particularly if there is even a slight breeze.

The same applies to indoor settings with air leaks, e.g. a shop where the entrance/door is open. In such settings, any other type of heater is ineffective, so although you may have a high efficiency fan heater, its effectiveness will be zero.

Note that the same fan heater may be far more effective in a well-sealed room with no drafts. Its energy efficiency hasn't changed, only its effectiveness.

  • Do these come with a free house fire? or is that extra?

    • +1

You get 6% more house fire if ordering with Internet Explorer 7

      • That would come handy with the insurance =)

  • +2

    fire allert

  • +2

Enjoy having your house burnt down.

    • Most of the time fires are caused by people putting flammable things close to heaters. Just sayin'.

If I need a heater I switch on my amplifier, power up my 30 lcd monitor, and turn on my computer. Doesn't take long :)

  • why is the code 'save100' when we are saving $99. Would've made more sense to make the code 'save99'

Just comment on product itself bargain or not, it really is great panel heater. Works very well heating up the bedroom but forget about it making any difference at all in larger living area. Bought it as brand new factory seconds year ago ebay listing for 99c+delivery. Can't fault it and definitely worth every cent even at 99$ compared average branded ones out there.

At last….. some useful information from someone who actually owns the product….

I've read it has an LED control panel…… does it include a timer function?….. and can the appliance be 'locked' in terms of time/heat settings?

I've got one and it works fine. In fact just as well as our much more expensive Noirot.
