only 3 year warranty doesnt sound that reassuring

Almost enough to run the AMD 7000 series and an RTX 4090.

    • +3

4090 is not that bad, HUB confirmed it uses less than a 3090TI

      • +2

Yeah that rumor was a load of BS. Shame about the $3k price for one.

        • The price will probably be around 3k AUD (depending on the brand), we will know in a few hours.

      • It also achieves 93% fps at 300W power limit (compared to fps at 450W).

No ATX 3.0 though, I will hodl till end of this year..

  • Can this run 2x 3090 Ti in SLI + i9-13900K

    • +2

      i9-13900k uses 253W max
      single 3090Ti uses 450W so x2 = 900w

in total of 3 components is 1153w

      PSU is 1650W but you should consider 90% of it so 1650w x 0.9 = 1485w

well you will have more devices running on that PC so considering them as well and based on above numbers it should be okay.

I am an IT engineer but not an expert about electricity. Happy to learn more from experts.

        Fixed your numbers slightly:

        3090Ti can draw up to 480W so x2 = 960W
i9-13900k can consume up to 378W when all cores are firing at 5.2 Ghz

in total, 3 components is 1338W

        PSU is 80+ Gold rated so you should consider 80% efficiency so it's 1650W x 0.8 = 1320W

Assuming worst-case scenarios when just your CPU and GPUs are running full blast, I'd say the 1650W wouldn't be sufficient. You'd need something like a 2000W PSU that's only $30 more expensive to have comfortable headroom.

        • Not that I’m serious, 3090 SLI is a joke, but unless I’m mistaken, there shouldn’t be an issue running above 80% capacity?
I’m fairly certain the rating is what it can supply, not what is drawn from the wall. Also 80 Plus Gold is closer to 90% efficiency

Where did you get the "80% efficiency so it's 1650W x 0.8 = 1320W" thing from? A 1650 watts PSU is 1650 watts at the 12 V rails output and not at the input.

          • @John Doh: can fit around 6x 3080s during mining peak.

            • @[Deactivated]: I wonder who needs these PSUs anymore now that you cant sli anymore.

              • @John Doh: You can still install and use multiple GPUs without SLI, very useful for some productivity tasks outside of gaming.

                • @DmytroP: Ya right, I now remember LTT suggesting buying an A380 for AV1 stuff!

        • +1

That is not what PSU efficiency means. It simply refers to the efficiency of its rated DC output vs the power draw at the wall. So a 1650W 80% efficiency PSU can potentially draw up to 2KW at the wall socket.

Clearing stock on ATX 2.0 PSUs as we get closer to ATX 3.0 release to better support the more power-hungry GPUs of the future. HODL as they say.

    • HODL-ing !

  • any deals on 850 W or 1000 W

    HODL to Januray
