From the recent eBay Newsletter. I have marked as targeting, as I'm guessing this is the case (I have no clue who will or who will not get this offer). The offer was sent to me via my eBay account inbox on my eBay Store account. Hopefully, someone will have use for this.

Lost first parcel on my trial. To their credit, after 6 weeks or so they did reimburse me the eBay sold cost + P&H I paid, but yes, felt guilty as the buyer was wondering what happened for weeks. Unreliable and not worth the hassle. Never tried it again.

    • I can't say this is much different to Australia Post. I have only used sendle ~15 times and they are cheaper (compared to AusPost), but I found slower. I haven't sent enough via sendle to comment on their loss rate, but I've sent >5,000 parcels via Australia Post and I get an approx. loss rate of 1 in 100 (1%) (From memory the official average a few years ago was 1.5% loss). I'm glad sendle sorted you out in the end

    • yep, i never lost a parcel but they can be unreliable, for e.g., it can take them a week for them to deliver an order less than 50km from my house, but on the other hand often they can deliver next day from Melbourne to Sydney, and they even once delivered same day to another address in Melbourne. the only reason i use them is because they're cheaper than Aus post (at least to metro areas) and as i mentioned that they are sometimes faster than even Aus post express.

    • I had exactly the same experience, felt bad for the buyer because all I could say was that I had shipped it. Turns out it was sitting in the dropoff point for about 4 weeks.

Sendle and Couriers Please are categorically the worst courier services for freight inward bound to WA from the eastern seaboard. Anything you move from over east can take weeks or months to arrive in WA, if it even arrives. Any savings you make on postage will be quickly consumed on admin time replying to irate customers and your time is valuable. Getting any response from either provider is futile. Lesson learnt the hard way.

  • The first time I used sendle I had my old address as the pick up address for my item on ebay, but when I updated it It didn't change on already sold products so the label was incorrect. I tried to contact them and only after wasting hours over a few days was I able to get it refunded and a new label made. Some of the links on ebay to track parcels just flat out don't work, and the second you book the item is shown as "sent" which complicates matters when some guy thinks his item is on its way and then days later it isn't. The refund takes 6 weeks which is joke and I still don't know if I got it. Thought I would try again, and this time 4 days in a row it was supposed to be picked up and the bloke didn't come. I had to complain before he did and it still took him a day and a half.

The only service worse than this I have ever had the displeasure of using was fastaway, they are truly sh!t and their customer service sucks. I guess some of the issues are solved by taking your stuff to a drop off point, but not all of them. The only good thing about them are the free and half price with ebay plus, if it wasnt for that you wouldn't even consider it

Oh and they don't have phone support, only a hybrid chst, whixh means you have to ask a bunch of dumb questions to a bot and get told a bunch of useless how tos before actually going into the queue for human chat support. It took so long to get a person on that often the computer would be asleep before it happened. Also tracking on ebay was broken when I used it, and some links were just 404/dead. Truly crap aervice

    • The only good thing about them are the free and half price with ebay plus, if it wasnt for that you wouldn't even consider it

      What is this?

      • If you have ebay plus, you get up to 3 half price sends with sendle each month, so if your shipping cost is 15 bucks, it will only cost you 7.50, which means you are pocketing 7.50

        • Thanks!

  • I find Sendle is faster if sending within the same city, sometimes within 24 hours. I think they are routed more efficiently than Aust Post as the latter have to go back to their distribution centres for sorting out and sometimes just get stuck there for a long time (e.g. Welshpool in WA and Chullora in NSW are 2 notorious distros where parcels get stuck for a loooong time, looking at my past trackings).
However, I lost more parcels with Sendle than Aust Post. Annoying thing about Sendle couriers (using Couriers Please) is that quite often they left items ATL although the parcels are meant for signature on delivery. I complained to Sendle many times, usually get the canned response that they will pass on feedback, occasionally they'd say that their couriers sometime exercise their own discretions to do so (WTF). Definitely would not recommend them for sending items more than $300 (their insurance limit on eBay).

Hey have had stuff stuck at chullora even after I had it delivered. I think when things get stuck at chullora they aren't actually at chullora, maybe a driver picks it up and doesn't deliver itz but says he did because he doesn't want the red flag, and then he delivered it later. I had that happen once with an item, the bloke delivered it on the weekend to me after he had signed it as delivered on the friday

You might as well giveaway anything you sell on eBay for free if you rely on Sendle for delivering to your customers as it will never arrive to the destination and if for some miracoulous reason it does, it will be months later. This is because Sendle use fastway and couriers please - the most unreliable logistics company on the planet. There's a reason why using Sendle on Ebay is so cheap - dont fall for it!

    • This makes sense, fastway sucks big time, drivers are lazy, or have no incentive to pick up parcels, they all just want to go to the drop off point and stuff anyone who wants their parcel picked up from home. Same with dropping off, I have consistently been messaged that my stuff is at a pick up point because no one was home, yet there was always someone home, and a camera that never picked anything up

  • I got this and accepted, then ebay automatically (forced) to apply "free sendle drop off" on first sold order even I could post that with plain letter about $3! also no choice to change pickup then had to go out to drop.

  • Sendle aka Couriers Please? No thanks.
