Wow, the worlds second fastest gaming laptop!
    (With a single 660m..yeah right)

    1600*900 is pretty crap too

Ok price I guess, rather have a Clevo / Metabox personally if I really had to get a gaming laptop

    • we have the full hd model for $2099 …
it has the GTX 670 aswell

  • Is this grey market stock? I thought asus laptops usually come with a 2 year warranty and didn't have accidental damage warranty?

    • This laptop comes with Australian plug , some models have the 2 year warranty, some just 1 year warranty.

All Asus laptops are made in the same factory in China, whether its US or AUS stock

      • Why does this mention 1 yr accidental damage protection? Reviewing the asus site - that's only valid for purchase in the us or Canada. Is the warranty any good in Australia? Thx

    • yes its grey import

Same price as here: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251056631858?hlp=false (8GB RAM & 1TB HDD)

Have you dealt with this seller? I have. Avoid if you can. You can read more about it on whirlpool

    • +4

that model only has 8gb - our model has 12gb - we offer 16gb for $30 more, they charge $100 more

there model doesnt have bluray - our model has bluray - they charge $150 for bluray

If you read about those ebay dealers on the whirlpool forums there is a lot of bad feedback,
read below before buying on ebay

      • I totally agree with you. I bought from them, and they did not include the freaking bluetooth. Such a pain in the ass, I try to contact them after getting the items. However, no reply. Pretty pissed off. Luckily my lappy is still working til now

Most gamers will say the ASUS are better quality

      this machine has

      12gb , 4 RAM slots, that one has 8gb
      only 15.6" - this beast has 17.3 "
the IBM hdd is only 5400rpm speeds, this laptop has 7200rpm … big difference'

this laptop has bluray too , the IBM doesnt

you get what you pay for

      • Asus better then lenovo? Im not too sure about that!
Lenovo have a pretty good rep for build quality. (I am not biased, everyone in my house has Asus laptops)

only for their enterprise class machines

These laptops are awesome! I've got the model down (ASUS G74SX-BBK7) and I've had no regrets (Though I got mine last year for $1390 with a 3 year extended warranty). Still that was without the blueray player and of course older specs etc.

    Plus it looks mean.
    :D

Great deal! Also cheap 2GB DDR3 Laptop Ram here: http://www.accessantennas.com.au/perth-discount/laptops/lapt…

  • Would love to get one but am waiting for the next model G76? with a GTX 680M(Kepler) video card.

    • GTX 680 may be good now. But, in a year, it will not be any good. They may get started with gtx 7 series.. lol.. just my prediction.

  • Does anyone know how the ventilation/cooling is with these asus gaming laptops?

    • It has 2 fans, one on the GPU and one on the CPU. I've got the g73w, had it for a few years now, and runs very quiet sitting in front, as the fans blow out the back 'exhausts'. Love this model laptop, and Asus support is very good, I've sent the thing back 2 times now and every time next day pickup via courier, fixed and couriered back again. Problems were dead pixels and screen got replaced, then trackpad started playing up after a little coffee spill and they replaced (didn't mention the coffee however).
