Good to hear, thanks. How'd you manage that price? Currently $899 on their website.

They had a spring 10% off dealio thing. I had it ready to go the night before and then when i was gonna pull the pin the next day the deal had expired. Rang customer service and they still honoured it which i was pretty happy about.

  • Is this made in German or China?

    • I think Bosch has 2 product lines when it comes to white goods.
Given it's under $1,000, it's likely to be the inferior line, hence made in China.

    • Bosch Serie 8 models are made in Germany and come with a 10 year motor warranty, as well as the 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Serie 4 and 6 are made in China and come with the 2 year manufacturer’s warranty.

CHOICE has country of origin listed as Poland.

    Made in Poland.

    • Would prefer Made in Ukraine.

      Slava Ukraini!

Have had a series 4 for 5 years now. China, Turkey, Germany… Does it really matter?

I often see people claiming made in Germany is way better, but I rarely (if ever) see anyone point to anything specific that is better about the German manufacturing

For what it’s worth, I had a Bosch 6.5kg series 4 model WAE20261AU that was made in Thailand. I had it for 13 years and recently sold it because I bought a bigger Hisense 10kg. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Bosch and it was still going strong when I sold it. It was built like a tank and I am sure the people who bought it off me will get many more years out of it.

For me the country of origin is not as important these days compared to 80s and 90s where made in Japan was the premium for electronics. These days it’s more about the warranty for me.

        Just my 2 cents.

        • I've got the WAT24261AU and it's made in India. Fine for 5 years, moved house, inverter module came loose in the process despite fixing the machine with the correct bolts for moving, then it shat the bed entirely. Probably a write off. Otherwise all good. Just be super careful moving it.

E&S seem to have the same price - incl delivery and old machine removal…

I think that we have a Turkish built iDos 8kg version that we appreciate - but that looks rather expensive now.

I would buy a bosch/LG anyday over a super dumb, loaded with pre-historic program F&P washing machine anyday.

      you and me brotha….

F&P seem to be stuck with some 70Yr old programmers/designers still tuning thier wash cycles and machine configuration. I even purchased an almost top of the line 1250$ 10KG Series 7, Direct Drive, Steam wash washing machine only to figure out my previous 400$ LG 6KG washing machine purchased 5 years ago back home had wayyy better wash cycles and build quality. This thing is even harsh on cloths. The Choice reviewers were right that FP damaged cloths more than LG/Bosch.
