Make your own - not rocket science, or ask your mum

    Kebab? Maybe try homus..

    • They're doing Asian Kebab…

      It's all the rage now.

  • I find the local asian supermarket can have some great home made varieties.

  • I have always used this one - https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/841694

You can find it at most Asian grocery shops.

No Satay auce will cut it until you add Satay Powder to it.

You need to go to a Chinese supermarket and get some satay powder and add to any Satay Sauce you buy to make it suitable. Or you can make Satay Sauc yourself once you have the satay powder.

Satay Powder is not available at all of the Woolies or Coles, but if you cannot find it ask as it may be in a strange place in one of the isles.

  • I made one off the back of a packet of noodles I bought recently and it tasted pretty good.

2 tbsp of lime juice is way too much, the sweet chilli sauce is incredibly lazy but works (adds the sugar and spice in one go) and coconut milk is nicer than beef stock but I had some old beef stock cubes I wanted to get rid of though so I gave it a go. I added a bit of fish sauce too. Just needed to add a tad more peanut butter to thicken it a bit more (not too much, it thickens a lot more than it looks like it will) along with a few spices (I remembered putting tumeric, paprika and lemongrass in satay before so I did it again) and it was really nice and simple.

  • Ayam is decent for something off the shelf.

Otherwise find a recipe, its usually only 5 ingredients and tastes infinitely better.

    • Jimmys in my sate chicken is the bomb. I also add some peanut butter.

    • Came here just to make sure someone suggested jimmys. Best out there imo
