    As someone that's got Deluxe membership until mid 2025, I'm at the point now where I'm like…wait, do we have this now? Is it coming soon as a 'freebie'. Only last night my youngest wanted to play WreckFest, disc though was at the other end of the house - pass me thar controller son. WreckFest 'delete', proceeds to download the store version. RIP forever disc. Far too many of these now. We will catch up where we aren't buying games twice but this goes back to pre tiered memberships. Far Cry seems to hit the console pretty fast in terms of availability with membership.

    Another reminder to myself not to pull the trigger for Ubisoft releases in the first few months for price drops like this. Seems inevitable with all their titles in the first 3-6 months of release.

    Hate that the city is mostly empty (apart from the enemy) and it can’t really be explored properly even after you win it over

        yes, having (almost) finished FC4 for the second time, i think FC5 is a lot better, at least for the first 30 hours. But it doesn't quite have the charm of Primal and 3 for me personally.

        At this price just go ahead.

          i could never get into fc5 - not a fan of whole god bs, and FC was always about tropics and colourful surrounds, not bland US wheat and dead grass

            @botchie: I was the opposite, loved the whole Waco/cult feel to it.
            Loved the story for FC3, lost interest a bit for 4 and primal, it drew me back with FC5 (not so much New Dawn but still finished it), but couldn't get on board with this leveling/supremo level system of FC6.

            There was a live action prequel that sort of led into FC5, helped root it more to a real scenario.

            @botchie: sorry, i meant FC6*** FC5 was dog shit, couldn't finish it.

            I picked up the franchise with FC3 and i would rate them as:

            FC Primal > FC 6 > FC 3 > FC 4 > FC 5

            Doubt many people will agree with me. FC Primal is just so different, and the melee combat is so fluid on the PS4.

      Personally didn’t like it. Characters are generic and uninteresting. Story was not engaging. Gameplay felt very repetitive, especially since enemies are bullet sponges except if you get a headshot which is an instant kill so all automatic weapons felt pointless.
      Perhaps I’m just exhausted from the Ubisoft formula. You might find it fun but I certainly didn’t.

      I got it for PC back in easter, took me about 4 months of very casual play to finish it 100%. Played it in Guerilla mode so had to get good at the headshots, but all round pretty fun if you're not looking for anything too serious. Definitely wouldnt have paid full price for it ($90-100).
      I still play it a little as the game will have weekly insurgencies whereby the enemy will take back territory week by week and if you dont action they'll eventually reclaim everything…

      Weird.. I think Far Cry 5 was 20 steps backwards from Far Cry 4.. but I did enjoy the spin off in the middle of both called Far Cry Primal. Haven't played 6 or anything prior to 4 yet.

    Great for the first 30 or so hours.
    The next however many it took to complete it was simply mind numbing repetition.
    I wanted to neck myself just to get to the end.
    Ended up skipping all the cutscenes because i became so bored with it.

    Enjoyed the mechanics, not the repetition and filler side missions.

      Not quite, Far Cry 1, 2 and 3 are distinct games. Everything after that just reskinned and slightly modified the previous entry.
      And yeah, it’s set in Cuba but renamed something else

        Yeah I'm not sure if my taste in games changed, but I loved Far Cry 3 and then found 4 pointless/boring, didn't bother with the rest. Had a similar relationship with the Assassin's Creed games.

        nothing wrong with reskins. Primal for instance was a reskin of 4, but it's by far my favourite. Love the ancient setting.

    Really enjoyed this to begin, but once I got used to the gameplay loop I was really over it. I think I hit 30 hours. Regret purchasing. REALLY regret paying for in game items in the online store.

        Those are all player vs player games. Difficulty depends on the skill level of your opponent.
        In single player games it’s the AI being too dumb or else weapons being too powerful (like the tank which is basically unstoppable once you get in)
