It's the whole setup, not just the bar.

      • The bar, sub and two rears?

Obviously I'm thinking for $3K I can have an amp and speakers that will most likely sound better, but perhaps I'm wrong.

I'd love to hear the setup, intrigued.

You would absolutely beat this with an amp and speakers. The sonos gear is smaller and easier to place with less cables though.

          • @TheRightGuy: From what I've read, the sonos setup is best for movies and enclosed rooms with low ceilings for the Atmos effect. Amp setup is better for music.

I tried looking for a speaker pack and amp that would look good sound awesome, be hassle free (reliable connection and no manual switching between modes), and have good app support… it's not cheap.

You could get something like the Q Acoustics Q7000i 5.1 Plus Speaker Package, plus an amp, and you'd likely sound better than the Sonos for the same cash. For me personally though, Sonos systems are about more than sound, it's the whole package, reliability, aesthetics, app integration, sound quality, support. It just works flawlessly.

The memories of having to manually switch amp modes because it wouldn't auto detect and trying to stumble through bad UI… ugh.
