Wacom One $389 (RRP $649) Delivered @ Wacom AU

800
PAXWACOM22

Just got an email from Wacom saying their offering a discount on the Wacom One to people who visited their booth offering 40% off.
Code seems to work for anyone though.

I'd say it's a good price for an entry level display tablet that's closer to what their competitors are selling at.

Some specs:
13.3"
Full HD
NTSC 72%

Compatible with:
Windows 7 & later
Wacom Mac OS 10.13 & later
Android (with a 3rd party adapter)

A Wacom on an actual deep discount is a damn rare thing, better than the huion I was considering.

    • Huion aren't too bad tbh. I went from a 22HD down to a Kamvas Pro 20, and yeah - it's a downgrade, but no where near as much as I was dreading. One thing I will say though is the Kamvas has terrible ghosting. If I didn't use it mostly in a static shot, aside from zooming, then I probably would have returned it. Pen feel, sensitivity and all that are great though.

I have no idea what the Wacom Ones are like, but I think the general consensus is that Wacom = quality.

Any cheap alternatives to this one?

    Need for school project.

If you want one with a built-in screen, go XP Pen

@vegemite2008 where are you located? I'm in Sydney and have an older Wacom you can use if you'd like.

        You're a top penguin.

      • Thanks. Different state but the same Vegemite ha ha ha…

    • Livescribe pen.

The screen on this isn't great. There's an airgap and the colours are quite muted.

  • 40% not working

  • I had one of these and I found it just too small and frustrating to be useful at all. The paper-like screen treatment creates a bit of blur too. I switched to using procreate on an iPad instead and have not looked back.

Are you sure it's the same product you are talking about. This is 13.3" vs iPad 11"

      • Ipads also at 12.9”

      • I was referring to my iPad Air 4 but yeah a pro could be even better. The ipad has a massive resolution advantage 2360 by 1640-pixel vs 1920 by 1080. Also the interface is less cluttered on Procreate vs. Photoshop or other Windows software so your space is more usable. You are free to disbelieve me but I sold my Wacom One because it was a chore to use. No regrets.

  • Anyone buy this? I tried to purchase it and i got the discount to work and i paid through paypal buy i still haven't had a confirmation email

    • I bought one and got the confirmation in seconds.

  • How are the surface of these? I have an intuos. Supposedly their good stuff. The surface is all scratched up from their own pen nibs.

  • This or base iPad (9th gen) to gift to young cousin who's into art?

This isn't a tablet. Its a drawing monitor.

  • Been thinking of getting a drawing tablet for Photoshop (photo editing) would this work well?

Did some research on similarly priced things currently discounted, not an expert though. Mostly youtube reviews.

$389 WACOM ONE(normally $650, released Jan 2020) = 13.3" FHD (1920x1080), colour gamut 72% NTSC, no buttons, non-laminated display, bit dim. But it's Wacom, generally more expensive for less but good build quality and support. Other brands have similar 16" FHD versions for around the same price.

$468 on ebay(1 left)(normally $600, released Sep 2021) Huion kamvas pro 13 2.5K = 13.3" QHD(2560x1600), colour gamut 105% NTSC, all reviews say it's good except the screen can look a bit grainy and 13" can be too small to accurately tap icons in your program of choice without increasing UI size. The 16" version reviews are mostly purely positive for its price and features.

$419 on amazon au(normally $750, released June 2019) Huion Kamvas pro 20 (2019) = 19.5" FHD(1920x1080), colour gamut 88% NTSC, bad ghosting, bit old. Apparently the Kamvas 22" Plus is basically this but better, but that is $776 with a current 10% discount.

Tempted by the ol' 20 incher but went with the Huion Kamvas pro13 2.5k for the QHD and being more modern, wanted the 16" but cheapest was $700.

Been using a Wacom bamboo fun I purchased about 15 years ago so should be interesting.

    • A good summary of some of the better choices around this price mark. I think you'll be glad you went for a > 2.5k screen.
