It's an amazing wine, aged to perfection.

Colour: Full depth red with an intense crimson edge.

Bouquet: Lifted and intense on the nose, with vibrant cassis and black fruits layered over well integrated oak-derived notes of cedar, cinnamon and roasted hazelnut.

Palate: Richly concentrated pure fruit flavours combined with stylish and sympathetic oak supported by long, silky, fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity.
The excellent growing conditions in vintage 2010 have created the perfect balance between power and elegance that are just beginning to emerge from their youth..

Serving suggestion
Recommended with herb-crusted lamb rack served with Rösti of sweet potato and basil and a red wine glaze.

    Thanks for the recommendation. I missed the previous deal but managed to get a case of the Cabernet Sauvignon this time.
    Hopefully the Shiraz is also available again for pre-order.

  Got the 6 of this and 6 of Shiraz last time.

  Agreed, both are very smooth, but TBH for the price was expecting a little more character.

  Very easy drinking, just didn't grab me with anything that made it an absolute standout.

  YMMV!

    It's 12 year old wine… All of the character has muted with time.

      I have wine older than 12 years that has smoothed and blended the flavours with time, but not muted its defining characteristics.

      This has good body, smooth on the palate, just no standout character or the weightiness that I was expecting, as in some of the other premium, older vintages in my collection.

      YMMV!

  I have always found the St Hugo to be a bit overpriced for what it is, but $24.50 is a good price for the cab with some age on it. Grabbed a dozen, thanks.

    Ok. We normally keep a couple of dozen of stock just in case there is any damages during delivery.
    Please send us an email at [email protected] and we will get back to you if there isn't any breakages during all deliveries.
    It's normally first in best dressed.
    No hard feelings. It depends on who emailed first. And if they don't answer within the hour we skip to the next one.

    Oh I just had a 2009 on the weekend.
    Incredible. Better than the St Hugo.

    And the 2010 label looks more appropriate than the 2009 and earlier, which looks like the label for a $10 bottle.

    Do we need to be on the members list if this goes ahead?
