Holy ****. Almost 4k just for a gpu.

    • +8

If you think that's something, head over to eBay there's a scalper who has sold one for $5575. People just can't control themselves, and no doubt Ngreedia will increase the prices in future and say there's a chip shortage or make up some bs lol

      • +2

There's defo something to be said for overcompensating for unrelated matters if you know what I mean

      • +2

Nvidia I'd strongly suggest is deliberately drip feeding. They tried their absolute hardest to offload TSMC capacity to other companies, so it fits with them just price fixing.

I'd wait for AMD, and if you're only a AAA gamer on dx12, then maybe Intel? (as their drivers still need work).

      • +1

It is a poor excuse to justify scalping with someone else scalping the price even more. In any case, I fail to se the bargain here.

      • Nvidia's dream is to make $5000 graphics card the norm.

    • +2

It's literally priced at twice the value of my car.

  • +54

    Thanks mate, bought 0.

    • +3

Should have bought -4 for -SLI

  • +7

    Yoo's not cheap

  • +5

Actually cheap price for this model…… but f**k u nvidia

    • +5

      F**k Yoo's :)

    Or even better HODL.

  • +3

Who needs a heater when this ASUS ROG strix 4090 version is capable of drawing 600w :)

  • +3

    Bought 1 for crypto-mining. /s

    • +1

      DeLorean not included :(

    • +1

      bought mine for vampire survivors.

  • PC BYTE has stock…

Is this OzBargain deal or OzRRP deal?

    • +4

I wouldn't call this a deal at all either.

    • -2

OzRRP but its about the only store thats in stock. You be the judge if its worth a deal or not.

  • +2

    add another 300

That's the price of my first car

    • Is that a car or a "bomb"? XD

    • haha, same here.

    • This is over four times the price of my first car as a 16 year old!

  • has anyone actually bought from these people. I have never heard of them

    • They are yoo.

    • Yoo's gotta be kidding me

  • +2

    Lol

    Why can't I buy a house

  • +3

In no sense of the word is this a bargain.

A third of the price and half the power draw and we might be in the realm of the sane.

A lump for those with more money than sense.

    • +3

      Relevant username is relevant.

    • Sooooooo……. a completely different product is what you’re after.

Not sure why people are so offended by only having the budget for mid/low-tier, those level of cards will still give an excellent gaming experience.

      • -1

No, just a product that hasn't got an excessive profit margin, and is designed properly, that's all. Or did you think the BoM comes even close to $3800?

        • What exactly does my (complete lack of) knowledge about the BoM cost have to do with the design and RRP of this product?

  • Will it play Doom?

  • Not a deal.

  • no deal

  • +1

In no way is this a bargain.

  • +2

    stock != deal.

  • Ouch.

  • Someone should buy this and record themselves power limiting it. The outrage would be delicious.

    • -1

To be fair, this is Asus ROG Strix, not Gigacrap.

      • +4

Nothing wrong with Gigabyte. Newegg reviews on all 2/3xxx series are just as good as other brands. Maybe they were bad once upon a time.

        • Gigabyte's 3xxx series were pretty garbage, ~110 degree memory, terrible thermal pads, sleeve bearing fans, etc…

But Gigabyte's 4090s seem pretty solid. Comparing them to ASUS they're slightly cooler on the GPU die and significantly cooler on the memory. ASUS is using some very thick thermal pads that are pretty terrible, especially given how much more they charge than other AIBs.

  • Where can I see the rest of the system specs? haha

  • How come this dissapeared from my deals feed list? I can’t see on /deals

    • because it's not a deal ;)

    • +1

      Too many negs I think.

      • weird, i thought would be in the main feed still on /deals just was weird as was looking at this post then it was gone or not there anymore..

  • +1

This is in no way a deal

  • -1

After looking at most reviews of 4090 there looks to be sweat fa difference with overall performance between almost all the models

    https://youtu.be/8tfGj3HIv-c

    No wonder EVGA got out..

Looks to be the case of simply buying the cheapest 4090 as possible

  • +1

Being in stock, does not a deal make.

  • It's the same as all those deals posted for PlayStation 5 and Xbox X. They are just posts on stock being available, even though there is zero discount from RRP, but people here still upvote the hell out of them. They are just OzRRP deals, not OzBargain deals.

  • +1

OzInStock, definitely no bargain. Someone needs to tell Ngreedia and ASUS that crypto mining ended in September.

    • Why? Even with these ridiculous prices, they're still selling out extremely quickly. Scalpers are making money selling at even worse prices on ebay.

Cryptomining isn't even a factor anymore. Consumers cannot control themselves and need to buy the latest product ASAP.

      • The TUF non-OC sold out quickly, but the Tuf OC and Rog Strix seem to be in stock everywhere. Even the Techfast $2.8k deal hasn't sold out, so I'm not sure why you think $3.8k cards will be moving fast.

  • +1

Wait for AMD. This is just insane

  • +1

Bruh only $3799 what a bargain, I'm going to get 7 of these and then jump off a cliff! I think my entire build costs that much with a 3090 in it!

  • YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO wtf

  • What a bargain for a card that has connector melts and no DP2.0…. awesome..

  • Why is this on Ozbargain???

  • Not a deal. I bought the Asus ROG Strix RTX 4090 for $3,459 due to a pricing error during the midnight release that was promptly fixed 3 minutes after sales commenced, and the retailer honoured the price, now that was a deal. This post is just RRP.

    • +1

You said pricing error which was fixed 3 minutes later. That by definition and your admission is literally not a deal but I'm definitely happy for you!
