  • Thanks OP.

  • Good timing

  • Bit confused is this deal &95 for 12m? As says something about existing customers get 20% which this might be something else.

    $120 60GB (365 Day Expiry) - $95 (+Bonus 500 Flybuys Points)

Or better with the amaysim $9 per month for 6 months 55gb

    It’s only for the daughter

    • +2

The $120 prepaid plan for $95 is for a new sign-up.

Offer $120, Now $95 with 60GB. New services only. Offer ends 1/11/22, unless withdrawn earlier.

Existing customers can get a 20%-off recharge (eg. $120 recharge for $96) by buying a voucher at a Coles supermarket register.

Save 20% offer: applies to all Coles Mobile recharge values. In-store only. Available at any checkout. Offer runs 26/10/22 to 01/11/22, unless withdrawn earlier.

      • Last year when I came to recharge they offered me the $120 365 plan for $90 anyway so that’s something to keep in mind.

      • my plan expires 15.12.22, if i recharge at 1.11.22, so i lost 1.5 months service?

  • What network

    • Optus

  • Has anyone used Boost prepaid (telstra) vs Coles prepaid (optus)?

    Worth switching over?

    • +3

Yeah I have used both for one year prepaid, and for the moment I'm sticking with Coles for a 2nd year.

Boost is better if you travel more due to the Telstra network, for me I'm mostly around Sydney so I have no need for it really.

I would like Coles Mobile to get VoLTE though, missed it from Boost. Apparently it's in the works.

But yeah it's been great actually. Switching you shouldn't really have a problem and it's $30 cheaper for the year usually for my needs.

      • +1

Coles has VoLTE now, if you contact support they can turn it on for you.

        • Okay cool, I'll contact them.

        • Does that mean every new customer needs to contact Coles Mobile to activate VoLTE ?

          • @[Deactivated]: I ported in 15 days ago, VoLTE just works for me.

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Just noticed on their FAQ - How do I get VoLTE?:

…VoLTE will be available to new customers who activate from the 4/8/2022 and progressively rolling out to existing customers.

            • @Thrift: How do you know if its active on your phone?

              • @[Deactivated]: On my Android phone, the status bar shows a VoLTE icon (or VoWifi icon in parts of the house, seamless hand off is working fine).

    • +2

I moved from Boost to Coles, no complaints at all! Their customer service via chat is easy to deal with.
Now offer voWifi and Volte and their pricing is alot more competitive.
Never had signal issues. And if you get flybuys deals spend X and get y off, brings price down even further.
      2nd year with them…

    • +1

I was with Coles for 9 months, for the first month they'd occasionally deliver my outbound MMS messages at 4am. That stopped and all was well until a couple of weeks ago I couldn't receive SMS messages, could send fine, same result shifting the SIM to different devices. Tech support had no simple fix. Ported out (vodafone) and all is well. Won't be trying Coles again.

    • currently with boost, was with optus/coles for the 2 years before that. i will be porting to amaysim due to telstra not providing any coverage at my school in the greater sydney region.

  • -2

Worst network in Sydney so buy at your own risk… !

  • By when do you need to activate the plan?

    • 30 days.

      • from the date of purchase right?

        • I bought a recharge from the last deal on the 05/10/22 and it says expiry date 08/10/2023

  • +1

I bought this Vodafone pre-paid plan from Officeworks last December:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/671777
$125 for 200GB for my brother, so far so good.

Hope it comes up again this year.

  • +1

These plans available now along with discounted $35/45gb and $45/70gb at https://colesmobile.com.au/

  • +2

This is currently available. Offer can be found in current catalogue, page 47.
    https://www.coles.com.au/catalogues-and-specials/view-all#vi…

    • Well yes. The difference with the offer from the OP is that recharges are also 20% off.

  • Has 5g?

    • No 5G on Coles Mobile, but 5G is overrated, I have it now. Not worth sacrificing your battery life.

  • this deal is ongoing, it is running all the way until 1 nov, not sure why previous one was expired

  • +2

So you need to go in-store or can buy recharge online?

Also my current plan finishes mid November. So does this have that 30 day period until you activate it?

  • +2

Only if Coles Mobile has eSIM. It's about time.

  • Kogan Mobile or this?

    • Kogan is cheaper!

  • With Coles mobile account bundled with Flybuys card, does the user get 10% discount when shopping in Coles, at least once a month ? I know Woolworths Mobile enables this sort of thing.

    • only on monthly packs (35 and 45)but not on annual packs

      • Only for 6 months. You receive an egift card for 10% off your shop up to the value of $30 only.

I'm planning to do this as it'll cost me $5 a month for 45GB of data. Probably too much data but still think it's a good deal.

  • How long does the Recharge Voucher valid? 30 days?
My current plan ends at 2/12. Might buy it on 1/11 and recharg on 30/11 if it only lasts for 30 days.

    • I'm on the same boat. Would like to know that as well!

    • +1

I bought a voucher a couple of weeks ago, it's valid for one year.

  • I'm with Aldimobile, but I am thinking of moving to Colesmobile because Aldimobile DOES NOT have VoLTE or VoWiFi. You also get more data on their 365 day plan than Aldimobile offers on their $99 plan.

    • +2

Don't do it. Moved from Coles (optus) to Aldi (telstra) and phones actually worked. Coles i think got the entry level MVNO plan from optus. It was the worst coverage by far.

Coles support is non-existent. MMS didnt work for months then did, then stopped again.

I think they apply QoS to some areas to protect their own retailer. Can't prove it but it certainly looked like it.

According to banner at the top of Coles Mobile Website(colesmobile.com.au) - We’re aware of a cyberattack upon Optus. Rest assured, Coles Mobile customers have not been impacted.

I'm with Coles Mobile and received a letter from Optus telling me my data had been breached

    • +1

Had you been with Optus in the past?

      • A long time ago. But I had recently moved and they had my current address, which only ColesMobile would have?

      • Also interestingly, I can't see the banner on the Coles Mobile website that the OP refers to - and although there are legacy Google search results, it's been removed from Coles Mobile pages altogether

  • This would be handy for my 12yo who's currently with catch til end of Jan..can I buy now and activate then?

    • +2

Nope. You must activate within 30 days of purchase.

      • I just bought the $120 60gb recharge for $96. The expiry date says 19/11/2023 does that mean I have until then to redeem it? 😯

  • +1

They dont offer eSIM, so no go for me unfortunately at least at this time

  • I’ve been using this for a couple of years now. When it comes time to recharge they tend to send offers, last year the recharge was $90 for the C $120 recharge.

  • If you are on a current plan is it possible to buy a voucher in store and pay with discounted gift cards and also claim the Flybuys points. Maybe it is necessary to let the current plan expire first in order to do this?

    • +1

      pay with discounted gift cards

      Yes

      also claim the Flybuys points

Are you planning to buy a new SIM or recharge voucher? You don't get any bonus points for buying a recharge voucher

      • Thanks for clarifying. So I should let the plan expire?

        • +1

No, best bet is to recharge the day before so you get the most from your previous recharge. I'm not sure what happens if you recharge the day it expires - best that you talk to customer service to determine that.

  • I’m trying to buy the 120GB plan online but it doesn’t seem to be discounted like the others and is showing as $150 not $119…

    • I believe the deals are in-store only?

  • I’ve been with Coles Mobile for the past 4 months and has been pretty good. Only noticed recently that you can do conference calling (ie. when speaking to caller 1, connect to caller 2 and merge both calls - it gives a message about insufficient funds or something like that).

Confirmed with Coles Mobile customer service that the conference call functionality isn’t available which is a shame.

  • Anyone know if Coles Mobile offers esim?

This link says Optus gave permission to use esim for their other services.
    https://eftm.com/2022/06/optus-extends-digital-esim-support-…

  • I was with Coles mobile one year age and now my Catch mobile is expiring in three weeks, can I use the Coles 366 package for $95? Not sure if it works with me.

  • Today I purchased $120 recharge and to my surprise it came up as $20. Triple checked it’s the correct one and seems to be all good.

    • +1

As in it only cost you $20 at the register?

  • Does the sim expire and become useless if activated after 1 month of purchase?

  • +1

The 20% discount offer for renewal vouchers is still active. I purchased a $120 recharge for $96 last night.
