My replies are even, and yours are odd…

  • Any deals for an 195cm tall person?

Was aiming for an endurance/gravel/road bike for exercise but zero in stock in australia at my size across giant/trek range under $2k

For my legs or the bike? :P

        • +1

Well you need legs for a bicycle, so I was thinking more like trimming your middle?

          • +1

@lunchbox99: Good idea, more aerodynamic that way too!

    • +2

yeh Im in the market too for something like this (ebike though).
You are a giant like an XL - you'd be surprised they do some good clearance offers on the size extremeties

I was going more for a drop bar, I took one for a test ride and it felt more comfy / natural

But I'll look more into this one, actually looks decent

Edit —- forgot to say thank you! :)

        Thanks!

It also comes with VP VPE-891 pedals !!!

          • @jv: A whole 2 of them?!

    • have a look at opshops and cash converters, can get some nice 2nd hand bikes

    • XL will be perfect for you. I’m 193cms and find the giant xl perfect. Maybe even a little big at first

      • It's all to do with body proportions.

I rode xl for years, then went into a store and they said I should try large, this is when I was already buying a new bike.

Large felt so much more comfortable

        • Yeah fair enough. For my son who’s already almost 6’, the bike guy said as he’ll probably still grow; it’s better to get a size up (XL) as he’ll still grow into it

$499 at a lot of places for both the 26 and 27 inch

    • wow - cool site thank you
Here I was googling like an idiot

    $519 at Ivanhoe
    Cycles. All sizes.

Actually just bought 2 for my kids. An XL and a Medium.

Ps. Website says $549, but in store they currently have 20% off(which isn’t advertised yet)

    • This deal is for NSW, but Ivanhoe Cycles is in Melbourne?

      • +1

        Yes.

  • Kids bike or a minimal use commuter?
If you plan to ride more than once a week don’t buy a freewheel

  • +1

Eww, rim brakes. They should be able at the very minimum do cable disc brakes at this price point

    • Nah you want somwthing you can maintain yourself on a $500 bike

      • Disc brakes are piss easy to maintain.

        • Not for people who buy a $500 bike

          • @Tleyx: That's debatable and also why I said cable rather than hydro.

    • Complaining about rim brakes, when it does not even have a freehub and cassette?!

      • I didn't go digging into the specs, but if so that's pretty terrible.

  • Any recommendation for good commuter bike?
