I've just got a sleep republic mattress which is very comfy but with that plush top, I wake up hot in the night.
I had a mattress in the spare room from Harvey Norman which doesn't have the plush top but is still very comfy. It doesn't make me hot.
I'm wondering if I should concentrate on looking for the simpler mattresses without toppers?
Thoughts?
We moved to a different a few years back and were very hot for a while. We found the trick was to use less covers over you until your body adjusts.
Memory foam mattresses and even ones like the SR with the topper will be hot
SR is really just a glorified pillow top mattress, nothing new
Try a non-pillow top spring mattress or like above, a cooler topper
I got a thick latex topper for an old mattress. It's freezing in winter compared to the new memory foam mattress I have. Probably because you don't sink in as much.

Go for something with a Gel topper not memory foam if heat is issue.
