got an email from the GoodGuys Frankston offering Macbook Pro 13" 2.8Ghz i7 750GB at $1299, however the offer link doesn't take you to the store and the price shown is still the original price $1697. I've rung the Frankston store this morning and spoken to the guy at their computer department. they are sorting out the issue. so hopefully it will soon become a valid offer. here is the offer (you can see it's from thegoodguys domain)

      I think this one is a fair bit faster than the DSE $999 one? Unless you got a further discount ofc

      No graphics card at this price is a bit of a bummer, good all rounder otherwise

      This is 2.8 Ghz as opposed to 2.4 Ghz, and the HDD is 750GB instead of 500GB.

      Other than that they are exactly the same.

      The refurbished unit is $1269 from Apple.

    This is an i7 and the DSE deal is an i5. Big difference in terms of CPU power.

      Both processors are 2 cores, so the difference would be negligible.

      I think you've caught into the marketing hype.
