got an email from the GoodGuys Frankston offering Macbook Pro 13" 2.8Ghz i7 750GB at $1299, however the offer link doesn't take you to the store and the price shown is still the original price $1697. I've rung the Frankston store this morning and spoken to the guy at their computer department. they are sorting out the issue. so hopefully it will soon become a valid offer. here is the offer (you can see it's from thegoodguys domain)

and the offer link is

although the deal is not active yet due to their IT issue, i just post it here so the Mac fans can follow. they can't deny the deal, can they?

  • Showing up as $1299 now :) I got similar spec mac for $999 from dse last week

    • I think this one is a fair bit faster than the DSE $999 one? Unless you got a further discount ofc

No graphics card at this price is a bit of a bummer, good all rounder otherwise

    • This is 2.8 Ghz as opposed to 2.4 Ghz, and the HDD is 750GB instead of 500GB.

Other than that they are exactly the same.

The refurbished unit is $1269 from Apple.

  • This is an i7 and the DSE deal is an i5. Big difference in terms of CPU power.

    • Both processors are 2 cores, so the difference would be negligible.

I think you've caught into the marketing hype.

  • just noticed the DSE's deal is still available online. will be on backorder though. i wouldn't mind…
