Agree with that. I have the 1050 and it is a great smoker but build and component quality is sub par. I bought it as it is the only smart gravity fed charcoal smoker available so ticked the usability requirements. I live near the water (salt) so it is a tough life for anything that can rust and my smoker will be lucky to see out two seasons.
Also it is fickle with rain which has sent the temp controller into a spin and created charcoal out of food that was intended to be eaten 😂

This was my first smoker and a great way to get into it. I will not buy a Masterbuilt again though as need something that is built to last
